Right. Its one reason why I think wiggins will surprise a lot of people and play better than they expected. He was treated badly and disrespected because of the circumstances.

He went tru the charade of playing for the cavs summer league team, acting as part of the team even though he had limited contacts with team personnel. Gets snub by lebron( His essay pretty telling in hindsight). Forced to wear cavs jersey for photo opts when it was obvious he was never going to wear it in a real game. He was in limbo pretty much the entire off season up to this point.

Wiggins has all the motivation. He is a good kid who is a hard worker and has nba ready skills( defense and transition scoring) and is a better athlete than most players in the league. He is a better shooter than given credit for(a streaky one). Has a nba go to move with his step back jumper that he can get off anytime. ROY is my prediction for wiggins next season.

I put the blame on the NBA. They really need to rethink some of the rules about when contracts can be traded. Let teams trade picks before they sign but include their cap hold or just let them be traded sooner after signing. There was no benefit to making everyone wait that long. If it were up to Cleveland, they would have traded him a lot sooner. You can't blame them for not putting him through team functions over the last month.

completely agree Phenom. I really hope it gets fixed in the CBA.

Ultimately Wiggins' inherent talent, work ethic, and coaching will determine his success next season. My guess is he was a highly motivated fellow to begin with. While what happened to him was certainly an unfortunate process, the idea that somehow playing "with a chip on his shoulder" will propel him to heights greater than he otherwise could achieve seems a little silly.

Long term, I would agree but the really good ones seem to be able to take instances of slight and take it up a notch for small stretches. That might be something to look for to begin the year.

Well said. I still don't understand how the cap hold doesn't count in a trade. That's idiotic to me.

I think this is a total non-factor for Wiggins. The guy played summer league and then got moved for a top ten player. The kid should be proud to be the piece coming back.

I know some have been suggesting that Wiggins is not a great shooter. Perhaps they're correct?
