Three Moves I Would Make This Summer

1. Hire Joerger as our new head coach

2. Trade Kevin Love & Martin to GS for Thompson, Barnes and Lee

3. Trade Pek to the Lakers for Pau Gasol.

Hi lip,

1. Yep
2. That's my 2nd choice behind the Cavs for #1+Waiters (I think this is the only way we could come out ahead in the long run), plus it gets Love out of the conference.
3. Interesting thought...Not sure if I like this or not. I think it'd be fun to see him with Rubio short term, but I hate just giving up on Pek...especially if we're losing Love, we will need the inside scoring.

Love it. Lets hope #1 happens before the end of the month.

I would do #3. I would also re-explore the Martin for Waiters trade and not trade Love.

I am not ready to trade Love unless we get a deal like you said. That would make us better next year. I would still love to move Martin to the Cavs for Waiters. I could live with keeping Pek, but if we could get Gasol on a shorter contract I would do it.

I don't see why the Lakers would want Pek. Wouldn't they want to keep their 14/15 & 15/16 books as clean as possible for free agent pursuits? I think they'd rather just let Pau walk then sign & trade him for Pek's deal and injury woes.

Can't imagine any scenario where Pek isn't on the Wolves for the duration of next season. His number of games played has to rise or length of his contract lower before any of the other 29 teams think about trading for him.

After the Bynum experiment I'm thinking the Lakers choose not to rebuild via injury prone center!

Lip, I read somewhere about a proposed trades of Love to OKC to reunite him with his buddy Westbrook, and we get Ibaka, Lamb and a 1st rounder. Does this strike you as the least bit feasible? On paper, it looks great.

PS: bleedspeed177 -- I would still love to move Martin to the Cavs for Waiters. Me too. Never happen.

Papal,

I've read the same speculation. I'd like that deal for the Wolves, but I don't see the Thunder doing it. They already have two scorers in Westbrook and Durant. I don't think they'd give up a really good paint defender like Ibaka for another scorer in Love. I could be wrong and hope I am. But I don't see it happening.

I only agree with #1

I would rather do a 3 way trade with Cleveland and someone in the top 10 willing to take the spare parts from Cleveland and our garbage (Martin and Bud) to get backup PG and a top 10 pick.

I would then draft Wiggins and then one of: Venleh/Gorgon or settle on Saric

PG Rubio
SG Wiggins
SF Shabazz
PF Venleh/Gorgon
C Pek

Dieng would be the first off the bench and I would figure out how to work him in at both C and PF based on the match-ups

Brewer could sub in for SF/SG

We need a backup PG in a bad way and I am not sure Shved will fit that role ever

Turiaf is the perfect 3rd C/cheerleader

I could care less about the rest of the team

This would be a really young team but would have an amazing amount of talent. We would end up with a top 10 pick next year I am sure.

I think that speculated deal for IBaka and Lamb would be a great deal....................................................................................for the Thunder. Are you kidding me? Love Westbrook and Durant? That would by far be the best big 3 in the league. You can always find a defensive big to go with them. No brainer for OKC.

Honestly think Philly would strongly consider Love for Young 3 and 10
Not only do they get Love but they also have about. 30 million in cap space this summer.
Could bring in both Stephenson and Deng

MCW
Stephenson
Deng
Love
Noel

I would think Love would stay with that core......

Then draft Parker, Stauskas and McDermott or Payne
Rubio MLE
Stauskas Martin
Parker Brewer
Young McDermott/Payne
Dieng Pek
