Can't win a close game? Take that and shove it naysayers!

I'm so sick of those who claim the Wolves can't win a close game and that the combination of poor interior rim protection, poor shooting PG and lack of shot creator were the reasons they struggle to win close games.

In your face(s)!

The Wolves battled and won a close game by doing what they do best. Great game Wolves. Way to PROVE to all those negative nellies you can overcome long odds and win a close game.

I know you're being a little sarcastic, abe, but I was actually impressed they held on to win on the road against an absurdly hot team. That's what good teams do.

What's really odd is how few close games this team plays. In the NBA, where teams always seem to make a run, games often end up close at the end. The Wolves however seem to play nothing but blowouts. In fact, they didn't have a game in the entire month of February that was decided by less than 7 points. Their inexperience, and especially lack of positive experience, in close games will be a problem if they make the playoffs.

To be fair this wasn't really a close game until they went off on all those 3's in the final 5 minutes. We have however had a lot of close games that we executed and pulled away late and therefore people didn't consider "close" games.

I think a better measurement of close games would be games within 6 points (2 possessions) after 3 quarters and then see what our record is

If anyone feels like doing it I would love to see our record using that measurement

This whole issue of close games is not black and white. It's some combination of bad luck, coaching decisions, bad calls (or no calls) by refs, getting stops, etc.

I think we've recently seen the pendulum swing a little back more in our direction lately in games that get tight in the 4th quarter. That doesn't mean there aren't still some very real issues to address, but it's not as simple as some folks make it out to be.
