Continuing this "brush with Timberwolves fame" theme: In their first year, they used the 98th Street racquet club owned by Marv and Harv for practices (before Target Center was ready). I came back from a hunting trip on an early Sunday evening and stopped by the club to shower and change before going to a party. I was enjoying a nice shower with the room to myself, when the entire team came in for their post-practice shower. I have never felt so inadequate in my life...eventually had to turn around and face the wall.

And finally...the next year, they moved to the TC for practices. But before their weight room was finished, they had to share the area with the downtown club members. Felton Spencer was dominating the leg press, so I asked if I could work in with him. He kind of scowled, but moved aside. I gave him a wink as I increased the weight load (Felton was never one for working too hard).

End of Timberwolves encounter stories...for now....
