If we're looking for an ex-Wolves coach who proved he could overachieve with the roster given him (in contrast to Rick Adelman), the obvious answer would be Bill Musselman. I'm afraid he might be badly decomposed though, and that might have a negative impact on attendance.

True. When I saw the movie Blue Chips Bill Musselman was in the theater and sat in the row in front of me with his wife. He did have an assistant I would love to have as our coach but it won't happen. He went on to be named coach of the year in the NBA.

I am going to say Bill Musselman for the simple fact that it would be mighty impressive if I made it work.

Tom Thibodeau would be my choice. Bill Musselman had him as an assistant.
"After four years at Harvard, he entered the NBA as an assistant coach with an expansion team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, under head coach Bill Musselman in 1989."
