I think we have to question how serious the wolves FO is about making the PO's. I have not heard our name mentioned even once about acquiring one of the players that are being bought out. Fredette, Butler, Gordon are all guys that would certainly bring more than an AJ Price, or Robbie Hummel.

I haven't heard any reports of the Wolves extending offers or engaging in talks with the players who were bought out either but I'm sure they aren't just ignoring them.

The reason we don't hear the Wolves name being mentioned as possible destination for these players is because we are on the fringe of the playoff picture. The others teams are firmly in the playoffs or in Clevelands case they are trying like hell to make it in because their owner made a dumbass declaration at the lottery last year.

I would LOVE to see Fredette or Gordon get some time in a Wolves uniform but I don't think Adelman would play them anyways.

Behind Phoenix by five games. I think the guys that could have the biggest impact on the Wolves are already on the roster: Budinger and Muhammad. If those guys get going, our bench should be fine.

*As long as Barea doesn't sink into another level of suck.

Cam -- I want to see Shabazz get more minutes and if his last game was an indicator of how we can expect him to play the rest of the season then he could be a big part of a late season playoff push. I have less faith in Budinger as a big net positive for us because of his poor defense, erratic shooting and inability to add significantly in any category other than scoring. And no matter how much we get from Shabazz and Budinger the rest of the way I think Gordon or Jimmer could add a lot to this team for a late run.

I concur, lipoli, although I'm not giving up on Bud yet this year. I have been Adelman's biggest detractor for giving Bud so many minutes when he was clearly not ready, but he has started to show signs of life from 3-point land...now 38% on the year (second to Martin) and 43.5 % last five games. Rick needs to get him out of the starting lineup where his defensive deficiencies are highlighted, and use him as a 3-point specialist off the bench in more limited minutes.

I continue to be baffled by the Kings' releasing Jimmer. Sac-town just isn't good enough to give up on a sharpshooter like Fredette. He's not a complete ballplayer by any means, but there is certainly a role in this league for a guy who can come off the bench and hit more than 40% of his 3-point attempts. Zgoda says there is no chance the Wolves take a run at him, but he isn't exactly the Oracle of Delphi.

I think they do it to protect against injuries, and also to take him off the board for other teams.

Grizzlies lost to the Thunder. Mavs are losing at the moment to the Bulls. Pelicans play the Suns without Dragic. Maybe we get some big help tonight.

Edit: Looks like Dragic will play. Shit.

Am I the only one who DOESN'T want them to be serious? Keep the lotto pick, draft a SF (again?) or a PF (as a better backup than LRMaM, or as insurance against Love leaving), resign Price and Hummel, maybe a well-placed trade or two, and go to battle next Halloween.
