The Wolves current financial situation is untenable... especially when you consider three of its highest plaid players play the same position. Especially when the only true dribbling facilitator on the team is gonna be 36, and in the final year of his contract. Especially since the incumbent center offers relatively decent value at $36M this season before he gets a huge raise.

So, as others noted a year ago when the Timberwolves made the silly Gobert trade, "they could always pivot and trade Towns" if it didn't work out. Well, it hasn't worked out much on the court (yet). But we know it can't work out financially, so it's gonna happen.

Just a matter of when...

July 8th

Interesting poll results - a 50/50 split between those thinking it will happen this July and those thinking it will happen next summer. I think it will be next summer, but it’s a close call in my mind between the two popular scenarios.

But what these poll voters don't realize is a trade next summer doesn't do a whole lot to help the financial situation, because KAT's contract will have ballooned to over 50 mil and they will have to take back a comparable amount of salary. The trade has to happen now (well, July 8th).

I voted at the deadline (if at all). TC is going to want to see his twin towers play more games together before making a decision to blow it up IMO. These guys have BIG egos. He's not going to back track on such a big move/idea that fast IMO.
