I don't have a strong opinion on this one way or the other, but Im curious how the board feels about Lebron and the topic of juicing. I've heard reasonable arguments on each side of the question, what do you guys think?

I wouldnt be surprised. He is massive in comparison to his first year. Disproportionately massive IMO. I hate steroids for enhancing performance. I always thought it was a red flag when basketball and hockey people would say there is no advantage to take steroids in those sports because of the type of athleticism and movement in those sports. The reality is the NBA and NHL and even honestly the NFL have pathetic parameters around policing performance enhancing drugs.

I don't have an opinion on it either. I have no doubt LeBron puts in the work, but I can see peers of his raising an eyebrow about how he's managed to stay this good for this long. Some of that could be out of jealousy.

Humans can get bigger as they age. I was 6'4 162# when I graduated high school. That was over 3 decades ago. I am 6'7 280# now. That old man strength is real.

I am not comparing myself to LeBron, he just has fantastic DNA.

But he is a uber competitor, so he is probably looking for any edge.

I would say there is a very high chance he takes banned substances. To stay that big at his age with how much exercise he puts in playing every other night, it's pretty much impossible not to (you need recovery time to grow big). I always thought he was a juicer for years though. He has the look.

I thought the banned cyclist supplement/chemical would be huge for NBA players also. It's called EPO. It's for endurance. Like Lance Armstrong took it and became a superman winning 7 Tour De Frances. He was just a guy basically without it. I can imagine LeBron taking EPO and Steroids actually. Improve both strength and endurance.

Baseball supposedly has this great testing program for banned substances. Well, it's not so great. First of all the cheaters are always ahead of the testers. Second of all you are allowed a certain level of each substance to be in your bloodstream. From what i understand the cheaters have become expert at raising their chemical levels up to, but not over the failed test mark. In other words, if having a measure of .7 of chemical xx means you fail the test, players are landing at .5 - .6. So basically usage is permitted, just not too much.

I don't even know if the NBA tests do they? But even if they did, you can be darn sure the league would never flag Lebron for a failed test.

“I don't have a strong opinion on this one way or the other”

This doesn’t pass the BS smell test.

I think you know me - if I had an argument I'd make it.
