6th Seed Race Begins - Wolves at Lakers GDT

While the Wolves are not favored tonight, it still feels like we have cleared the Gauntlet. Not unscathed, but in better shape than many thought we might be, especially given the injuries. I remember FNG wondered if we might slip completely out of the play-in during the Gauntlet!

There are 5 West teams vying for the top 5 seeds. Then there are the Wolves along with a blob of 4 other teams jockeying for the coveted 6th seed and play-in positioning. That doesn't even include the Suns sniffing at the play-in, but tankathon says they have the toughest remaining schedule of any team in the NBA -- looks like no playoffs for KD! Here are the blob of play-in teams trying to grab the 6th seed along with their tankathon remaining strength of schedule:

Code: Select all

Seed	Team Losses	SOS Rank
6.	Clippers	26	#5
7.	Wolves 27	#29
8.	Warriors	27	#20
9.	Mavs 28	#19
10.	Kings 28	#2
While I have not posted the KOM standings, both the Warriors and Wolves have anti-klunker opportunities tonight. The Lakers represent the 4th toughest game remaining for the Wolves.

Anyway, enough of that. Gobert and Randle are both listed as OUT for tonight. But amazingly, DDV is listed as questionable. NAZ and Jaden better stay out of foul trouble, otherwise, the Wolves could be playing super-small ball. Maybe Jesse gets some minutes tonight?!?

This would have been a fun one if we were 100%, but we'll be missing at least Rudy and Ju, maybe Donte, and even Ant could be out with the hip. Might still be a fun one though...this team keeps surprising me! In any event, we'll likely get a chance to see the kids run again tonight. It's a late one, but we'll be watching.

I didn't expect Divencenzo back this quickly. I was fearing the worst.

Me, too! Even earlier this week I just assumed both Randle and Gobert would be back before DDV.

With the 2 whiniest players now on the charmed Lakers, I'm anxious to see if watching my team against the Lakers is even bearable.

Curry is on a heater, but nobody else is doing anything and the Warriors are down 14 at the half. They are the team I expect to give the Wolves the most competition for the 6th seed, plus they own the tie breaker. Any loss by then is a good loss.

And this is why I should never judge a game by one half. Warriors are up in the 3rd quarter. It would be a great win for them as they start a 5 game road trip, which includes the tanking Hornets, Nets and 76ers. :(

Hine is reporting ANT was a bit late and he wonders if ANT might not go tonight…

Finch just said ANT and DDV are game time decisions.

Kind of feels like we could be steam rolled tonight…
