FIBA summer 2025

FIBA games will happen this summer starting in late August. Sometimes there is a guy that pops in international competition in the summer and gets signed after showing something combined with their league play. Guerschon Yabusele signed late August last year after a nice showing in the Olympics.

Donte is planning to play for team Italy which also has good ol Matteo Spagnolo who signed a deal with Baskonia which was a better team than the team he played for last year Alba Berlin who only won 5 games in Euroleague play. Baskonia wasn't good either but they won 14 games in the same league.

Now that the Rocco era has been delayed, maybe it’s time for Spagnolo!

I think the Spagnolo era MIGHT start in like 2028 when he will be 25 years old as a possible decent bench combo guard. 😂

Donte has dropped out of Europe cup due to a “physical issue”

It is being reported that he had a setback with his toe from last season injury

3 to 4 months of therapy

Well I don't like that. I was hoping he would be healthy and ready to go this season. Even if he is pretty much healthy when the season starts he might not have had the offseason to really get ramped up to be a big contributor at a higher level then last year.

On the other hand this might open up a little more opportunity for a FA guard to want to sign here.

It sucks for him not to be able to compete for Italy too.

There is no delay in the Rocco era!! He’s tanned, rested and ready to step in and dominate the paint!

Monster, Jon K says this is precautionary, and there's no concern about his readiness for the season. That's a relief.

Yeah I saw that and it's good but I'm not completely relieved. Donte has a history of having problems staying healthy and an issue for an injury he sustained months ago isn't exactly making me feel confident about him staying healthy. It also likely hurts his trade value a little. He probably isn't going as hard this offseason now either. He can be a big part of the success of this team IMO and his health is the biggest question mark as a player.
