Okay, training camp is right around the corner. Sham's had a piece on what ANT has been working on:

This might be the year... :D

We should revive the Ant thread from the end of the season where we collectively produced a list of about 200 unique skills he needed to work on this offseason in order to take the proverbial "next step". I'm sure post up/mid-range game was on that list somewhere! Not sure how he progressed on the other 199 demands we made of him!

The guy I keep coming back to as a major wildcard for next season is TJ Shannon. My prediction is he is going to force some tough decisions - in a good way - for Finch and potentially even the front office.

Ok, back to my offseason slumber. Been focusing on my golf game and fantasy football. Not in the b-ball headspace yet!

Haha, pretty sure the midrange game was mentioned here. I wasn't in basketball headspace much either until today. But I listened to Jon K and Dane on a podcast, and their excitement about this upcoming season got me excited again. Here are some of the points they made:

1) Jon K thinks Donte is going to start the season in the backcourt next to Ant. He's not necessarily saying that Mike is too old or Rob is not ready. It's more the psychology of the situation. Jon says that of the three of them, starting means the most to Donte. He was very productive in that role the previous year with the Knicks, and Jon says he didn't adjust well to coming off the bench. He said further that Donte has been in Minneapolis with his family most of the summer, and appears ready to have a much improved season.

2) They also talked about how they expect Julius to be much improved this season. He has a mercurial personality at times that is often seen as sullen, but Jon and Dane said he became much more upbeat and reporter friendly as the season went on. And Jon said he has been positively jovial in their interactions this summer. Jon says he is very happy to be here and out of NYC, and is fully ready to play the role that we need him to play...a lot of 14-7-7 games rather than trying to put up All-NBA stats.

3) Almost everyone is locked in on long-term contracts, so it is a very content group of players. Nobody has to put up hero level stats to earn their next big contract.

And then there's Ant. We all saw what he did after committing a summer to improving his 3-point shot. If he has the same success with his midrange work this summer, we will see another big jump from him.

I'm baseball guy, and the Twins disastrous season has had me a little down. But I'm quite excited about the Vikings and the Wolves, and ready for fall!

Midrange/post game is interesting. For one thing that's somewhat of a space Randle operates but he has taken a step back in the regular season as a scorer. One reason it might make more sense to play in that area is that in a way if he is successful TSJ is sort of the younger attacking Edwards so Ant could maybe he doing something different at times when TSJ is out there.

Meanwhile Edward's could be the focal point in some lineups where they literally surround Edward's with shooter and let him operate closer to the paint. That could mean more guards or maybe if Randle shoots the 3 well he could still be out there. Imagine Randle being fed off the catch and attacking a defense. Reid can be good at that too. That kind of thing could be great for TSJ or Donte or Dillingham. Any kind of game in the middle of the floor for Edwards does sound good that's a part of his game that isn't a like a giant hole it's not a strength of his game.

the Yankees just clinched, so I don't know if I'm ready yet for training camp, but I'm sure when the Wolves come to town October 9th for the preseason game vs the Knicks, I'll lock in (that and the Yankees might be eliminated by then :( )

CJ Fulton has signed an exhibit 10 Contract.

Jon K said on his podcast Juzang will have to earn a spot on the roster and Bones with his partially guaranteed deal is basically a shoe in to start the season on the roster. I hope Juzang shows he can play.

The Wolves PR team is going all out. They are bring back the black jerseys with the green tree trim.

And they have Latrell Sprewell back in the mix. I suspect KG will be back in the fold sooner than later. I think Cassell is still an assistant coach somewhere, so I am not sure how much they can include him. But somehow bringing back KG, Sam and Spree to help market this team would be awesome.

If a future rebrand brings trees back permanently, I hope they eliminate the werewolf font.

A lot of people really like those jerseys but I'm not really a big fan of them. I think they would be cool to have as a throwback jersey the team wears a few games though. My favorite is the original jerseys.

Of the alternate Jerseys the Prince one by far my favorite.

Ove the years I haven't disliked any of the rebrand or the alternate jerseys but I would say nothing really has felt like it really hit and felt totally iconic. Even though the ones in the video aren't my favorite that style probably has the most Timberwolves iconic design aspects of all the jerseys.

I think the Wolves current logo is pretty cool.

Alan Horton in for Grady when Grady is out. Huge news it’s no Marney
