Vikings at Packers GDT

Not sure why I bother with these any more. I guess it's just wishful thinking that we'll see some growth from McCarthy...

On a side note, for better or worse, Kelly is back today. We'll see how long it lasts since we seem to have some injury-prone guys, but the intended O-line will be intact today!

Sure would be nice if the two JJs would get their ducks in a row.

I'm oddly excited about this one. JJ has been awful this season, but he has a great arm, an intact offensive line, and nice targets to throw to. I have a feeling he will be okay today...not great, but okay.

Yeah, my feeling is he needs two years to become a good QB now. I want to be positive, but he has so many issues. Those injuries certainly killed his development. It's like he's a rookie now, which he kind of is.

Still could have a good game despite mediocre start, you never know.

They said the Vikings have the most amount of drops this season in the last decade of NFL football? I knew our guys are dropping it all year but thats astonishing. Are we really arguably the worst ever? I guess so.

Predicting JJ might have a sort of good game was one of my worst predictions ever...he is absolutely terrible. And now 2 O linemen are out. The only drama left in this one is whether JJ can get to 100 yards or not. Time to cheer for losses and a better draft pick.

The tough part is and I'm not giving up on JJ, I don't see any great QB prospects in the draft. Not that I watch every team of course but I do watch highlights of most teams. I wanted to like a few guys but it looks like a weak QB draft. Might be a guy I find, haven't yet.

Hey it's better to suck then win 14 games and get trounced when the games really count.

Also GB has a good pass defense, so not all that surprising we sucked.

They don't need to quit on him but it is inarguable that he is not an NFL quarterback right now. I don't know what they do since Bosmer is the backup but you lose all credibility with the team if you keep putting McCarthy out there and you'll probably wreck him in the process

What's discouraging is that JJ is getting worse, not better. Rookie QBs often struggle, but you generally see some evidence of progress. Not with JJ. And it's getting painful listening to KOC talk about his struggles. Did you hear him say JJ was one of the best "pre-snap" QBs he has ever known, and just needs to figure out the "post-snap". What???

This is a lost season, so I'll be cheering for losses and a top 10 draft pick. And since it's not a good draft for QBs, we need to draft for a stud at another position of need. I've seen everything I need to see from JJ...I wouldn't be surprised if Wentz is our starting QB next season.

I think you have to risk wrecking him. Though I agree that ideally he sat for this season and worked on his strength, mechanics and more film study.

I might be one of the few that brings this up, but he's too easily sacked, one hand reaching out takes him down, versus watching a Caleb Williams a Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts etc... who has a D lineman in his face and they shed them with regularity. Boom, scramble and make a play either running or passing.

I get it, he had the knee surgery and now ankle sprain. He's just easily sacked which can make or break an extra 2-3 plays a game. Maybe more!

Now he may never be that strong as those bigger guys but cmon, he's so easily taken down it's so far from avg even.

It's just a perfect whirlwind of everything from the injuries to missing a year to reciever drops not seen in a decade, to bad playcalling at times, a oLine in shambles at times, etc... Just everything that could go bad pretty much has.

Please no not Wentz again, he's just too old and too yolo with the ball, go to the recycling bin and find someone else. I'd still consider bringing in a 2nd to 4th round guy, just to have another developmental option too, depending on what they think of Brosmer. If they think Brosmer with another year could step in potentially? OK, go FA, Brosmer and JJ. If not consider the draft again.

The bottom line I still think is, JJ has a long ways to go and he may never reach that level, so I still lean looking to the draft even if no studs are apparent. And if JJ pans out and so does your pick, all the better, you can always get more compensation back for your backup, if not you have a good backup and you kind of need one with JJ's injury history.
