Giving Tim a day off for rest- Spurs/Wolves GDT

Teeing up a GDT on the back end of a back to back is challenging, so let's give Tim a break. A few of us said we would be satisfied splitting the two games this weekend, and that's the best we can hope for after losing to the Cavs. As I expected, the Wolves are a slight favorite...2 1/2 points currently. I think this one will be close.

Both teams played yesterday, but the Wolves got back to town early after an afternoon game and got a good night's rest. The Spurs won a nail-biter in Boston and probably didn't land until well after midnight. Vassell is out, but the Wolves should have everyone playing except TJ. And Wemby must still be on a minutes restriction, because Kornet has been starting and playing almost as many minutes. Obviously the Spurs defense is not nearly as good when both Vassell and Wemby are not playing.

Yesterday's game went south when Jaden got his third foul in the second quarter, and a clearly tired Ant had to come back into the game earlier than Finchy would like. Ant went 2 for 7 the rest of the quarter and was ineffective on defense, and a 10-point lead was down to 2 by halftime with the momentum gone. Jaden has to stay out of foul trouble today.

Thanks, FNG. I really needed the rest day!

I worry that ANT will wind up needing a rest day as well, although I didn't notice him favoring his foot as much as I did the previous game.

I didn't either, Tim, and he looked terrific on all those drives to the basket in the 3rd quarter. I thought both he and Ju were lazy on defense though after the first quarter, and it shows up in their dreadful plus minuses. The short bench and Jaden's foul issues led to the other four starters all playing more than 30 minutes yesterday, and that could be a factor today. I suspect everyone but TJ will play though. This is one I would really like to win.

For what it's worth regarding Jaden's foul issues, the Wolves had a terrible whistle yesterday. Not saying they lost due reffing but that was a poorly reffed game

ANT is IN. Finch is OUT. Nori is IN. Don't know about Wemby, yet.

Is Finchy out for "rest" like you, Tim?

I suspect Wemby plays, but doesn't start due to his minutes restriction. Opponents score 13.5 fewer points per 100 possessions when Wemby is on the court (almost as dramatic as Rudy's 15.9, best of his career!), so we really have to take advantage of the 25 or so minutes he's on the bench.

Who guards Fox tonight? We all love Ant's defense when he is locked in, so he would be my choice if Micah is convinced he is ready to focus. But I guess I'm more inclined to give the assignment to Donte, who I think has been really good on D this season, and give Ant to Castle who is really struggling with his shot.

This should be a fun game...I'm pumped for it!

Great to see this community step up in these trying times and provide a break for Tim.

We need our bench to play near perfect tonight and give us positive minutes.

Welp, can't blame Finchy for this start!

I suppose this is a good game for anyone hoping TC will make a BIG trade! :D
