I picked 3rd. It was a klunker. Easy to predict doom and gloom. But, for the most part, the Wolves have been playing pretty well. They’ll get back on track.

FNG says the Wolves can afford 2 more losses over the next 16 games…

5 for me. Too erratic of a team for me to believe in anything beyond that. Happy to be wrong though.

I'm on board with you here Doper. It would change if we acquire Coby White.

A lot of gloom and doom here after a bad loss...I expect KG4ever to show up to tell us how we lost the Gobert trade.

I've been thinking 2nd or 3rd for some time, but Denver has been playing so well without Jokic I expect them to finish 2nd, I think either the Spurs or Rockets will finish ahead of us, and we will finish 4th. Every team out there has some holes including us, but our relatively good health will ensure home court for us in the first round.

We already have some good data to work with. The Wolves have already lost the season series vs Denver, Phoenix and the Lakers. They have won the season series vs San Antonio. Houston is TBD. Interestingly, the Wolves only had 3 games vs the Lakers, Spurs, Suns and Rockets. I'm going to assume the Nuggets will finish above the Wolves with the tie break safety net. I feel good that the Wolves will finish above Phoenix and LA. Im going to split the difference between Houston and San Antonio and put the Wolves at 4. Perhaps playing OKC in the 2nd round might be better for the Wolves who seem to run out of gas in the 3rd round.

I'm the guy who voted for the lowest seed... and I don't even feel gloom and doom. I think the Wolves are better today than they were three weeks ago. So why did I choose the 6th seed?

- The West is really really good!
- The Wolves have been mostly healthy. Sure, Edwards has missed some time, but 3 of the top 6 have played every game.
- 2 more guys have missed only 2 games.
- I'm expecting more Wolves players to miss more games in the 2nd half. And the bench has mostly been awful sans Reid.
- After two straight runs to the WCF... one of which came as the 6th seed... the Wolves know seeding isn't everything. I think they'd like homecourt... but once/if that's lost... I can see the team caring only about being healthy entering the playoffs. Maybe that means a couple more losses near the end of the season.

This team seems to care when it needs to care.

While I think 2nd-7th seed are all on the table, baring we don't have catastrophic injuries. 4th/5th seems to be the most likely outcome.

Some of you folks are a bit optimistic IMO. I said 6th (ahead of the lakers) This is a team that’s been pretty healthy and we’re tied for 6th right now. We’re in desperate need of a competent, playoff rotation level POINT guard. If we don’t get that, we’re just not that good. Last years WCF appearance was slightly fools gold. Ant isn’t in the MVP conversation, Randle is falling off a bit. If we don’t make a trade, I’d like to see 15-20 minutes a game for the rest of the season for Joan (especially), Dilly, and Shannon (once healthy) and let’s see where we land. No more Conley… at all. I think Joan is going to be a star.

You have a good chance of being correct mainly because the standings will likely be crammed again like last season where there is a game separating 5 or 6 teams. Also the Wolves are staring at being on the wrong side of the tiebreakers. The final matchups against Denver, Phoenix, LA and the 2 Houston games will be extremely important.
