Free agent guard Mike Conley Jr. plans to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources tell ESPN. The sides are working on timing of him re-signing. Conley was traded twice this week – to Chicago, then to Charlotte – before being released and allowed to rejoin the Wolves.

It says the teams are working on the timing to sign him. To me means they are trying to wait a week or two to lower the amount he is paid so they can sign another buyout guy to stay under the first apron

Whew. That feels right.

I also have a feeling that Mike Conley is going to make a very timely three pointer to help the Wolves win an important game this season.

I would be happy with that. Memphis might want to keep him had a good run there years ago.

Unfortunately, Memphis chose to waive Eric Gordon. Seems unlikely they would waive SloMo.

Such an interesting week, and I think most of us would give TC an A for his performance. We don't know if Mike has anything left in the tank, but if nothing else, this is a good move for team morale...Ant especially will be pleased Mike is back. I don't think Mike is the 46.5% 3-point shooter he was in November, but I also don't think he is the 25% shooter he was in December and January. The fact that he's making a near career-high 89% of his free throws this season (only last season's 90% was better) tells me he hasn't completely forgotten how to shoot. One thing we know is Finchy trusts him, so he's another rotation piece that will allow us to go 9-10 deep most nights...very good for keeping guys like Ant fresher for the post-season.

We will soon find out, but Ayo will probably be first guard off the bench as 7th man...especially if Finchy sees him as a pseudo PG who can protect the ball. But then I think either Bones or Mike will be 8th, before Clark, Phillips and Joan. Of course all that might change if TJ comes back soon and will change if we have injuries. We'll have to see how it plays out, but it seems Finchy must be happy with this new-found depth. That's 12 guys he may be comfortable giving non garbage time minutes, plus Joe to occasionally inbound the ball . We suddenly might be deep...let's see what Finchy can do with it.
