Okay, Lip, you are too slow to pull the trigger on this thread! And we have 2nd round prospects to discuss!!!

There are a whole bunch of guys that would be interesting to add to the roster. I can't say there is one that screams "take me" over another one. I'll be happy with whoever TC takes.

Here is an interesting longshot: TC talks about connective tissue. How about Braden Smith, the all-time college assists leader? Might open a new door for our BIGS with lob passes. Only problem is his size...

[Charania] Memphis, like the Knicks at No. 31, is actively fielding offers to move the No. 32 pick for Night 2 of the draft, per sources. So picks 31 and 32 are up for auction in trades around the NBA -- with future assets being proposed.

Well that will force TC to fight his instincts if we hope he drafts a guy. We have the second to last pick and I am sure he wants to stash someone somewhere off the books…so if we want a roster spot next year to cost 1.3M instead of 3M then we need to draft someone. I’m fine trading down to get more picks but we really should draft someone simply to continue the process of sliming the salary to make us true players in next years trade deadline

Will be interesting to see how the Wolves tackle the 2nd round this year after being caught with their pants down last year when Connelly realized in real time that most potential guys already had their spots lined up.

I'm pretty sure the Wolves already have come to an agreement with their guy.

Richie Saunders seems like a connective tissue guy but might not play until December due to his acl surgery.

I'm putting my vote on Saunders.

How is it not some level of collusion for agents to work out where their guy goes in the second round? And if that’s actually how it’s happening behind the scene then TC doesn’t just get to pick a guy if the guys already picked a different team? And wouldn’t that really devalue trading once the 2nd round draft starts?

If the wolves get on the clock and don’t have a guy that wants to be picked by them why would someone give up good value to take our slot?

I wrote this in the other thread, but shoudl probably be here.
Before the Philon talk I had Meleek number one my board. Dude can shoot the ball, and was a pretty good defender making up for Acuff's horrific defense. He played next to Acuff, so he didn't' get to show too much of his offensive bag. I like Isaiah, he has good size as that Donte replacement for next year. I wonder if they take Richie Saunders, he tore his ACL, so they could probably get away with giving him a 2 way contract like they did with Jaylen Clark. It wouldn't shock me if New York does that at pick 31, since they have already said they wont' pay the 2nd tax apron ever. I've seen Jack Kayil linked to us for a few weeks, I haven't researched him much but it might be him.

Another guy I'll add Ryan Conwell. The No Ceilings podcast was raving about him a few weeks ago, saying he could be better than some of the first round guards taken. A senior which dropped him, but has some Brunson in his game.

I got the impression that TC was referring to the Wolves financial restraints last year. This year, the Wolves don't have that problem.

Tim said teams would offer those players guaranteed money, and the Wolves last year could only offer 2-way contracts given the cap crunch to stay under the 2nd apron. If the Wolves could have matched what another team was offering, than they could have taken them last year. Now if they didn't want to guarantee a bench role for Joe Ingles, they could have matched those guaranteed deals. This year, money isn't as big of an issue, but I think they want to stay under the luxury tax entirely to get out of the repeater tax.

With Meleek, I had heard (either Veccenie or O'Connor) that he struggled bringing the ball up against pressure. I like the other stuff I see about him but that gives me pause since its such a stated problem for this team.

Evans seems like he doesnt have much going for him outside of his shot and his height.

I heard last night Conwell has been linked to Denver.

I think Saunders sounds like a great fit and will at least be on the floor this season.

I assume Veesaar is not on their radar with Joan and Rocco in the fold already.
