Life Without ANT - Warriors at Wolves GDT

I know I lost the last GDT, but I am counting it as a "virtual win" since it was bad reffing that determined the final outcome (although, I feel like it should have never reached that point -- the Wolves did not play a good 2nd half). So, I will continue my GDT run until the Wolves lose again, then someone else can take over...

My expectation, along with many of you, is Ayo will start in ANT's place. Bones and Clark were not part of the 9-man rotation before, so at least one of them ought to see some consistent minutes now. Could Cody see some minutes? His 10/31 rookie option for next season is rapidly approaching!

As others have mentioned, ball movement on offense to create good shots and a scrambling defense with gang rebounding is the formula for winning more games than we lose. I thought the Warriors game tonight was a gimme, but they just went into Denver and handled them quite easily. I assume Curry will play, but Yaxel is listed as questionable. It's a big deal if he is unable to play.

ANT's 26 FGAs per game is more than double anyone else. That's a lot more shots to be distributed among the players on the floor!

Go ANT-less Wolves!

You're forgiven, Tim. I'm not a big "blame the refs" guy, but there's no question we was robbed in Cleveland.

I'm not happy about the Ant news, but I'm looking forward to this one tonight. TC gave an update on Ant this morning which I found encouraging...says this is just a cleanup, not a meniscus tear, and that Ant should return good as new in 2 months. He even said Ant wanted to play tonight (why not, after putting up 47!), but the team doctors thought the surgery was a better idea.

Yaxel has been the steal of the draft and leading IMO for ROY. But he's questionable. And if he doesn't play, the Wolves will dominate the boards at both ends. The Warriors are already not very long even with Yaxel (their leading rebounder) in there. But if he is out along with General Soreness and Porzingis, they are a bunch of midgets...6-4 Podziemski is their second leading rebounder, and we have 4 guys averaging more than him even with Ant out! All the predictors are picking GS to cover (except for the ones who didn't know Ant was out), but I'm not so sure. I think we will see an inspired effort just like we did when Ant was out last season.

Let's go!!!!!!

I suspect everyone just moves one rung up the rotation ladder.

- Ayo starts in place of Ant.
- Shannon is the first perimeter player off the bench.
- Bones is the second perimeter player off the bench.
- Clark gets the ~ 8-10 minutes that Bones was getting previously as the 10th man.

May be Finch has some curveballs up his sleeve, but it seems pretty straight forward on paper.

Good start for Ayo and JK. Need the others to catch up. Steph won’t always miss those great looks he’s getting…

Ayo starting for Ant, so no surprise there. Solid start despite some sloppy play by Ball.

Like that decision by JK to take the space and attack versus settling for the jumper.

Ball has been awful on both ends so far.

Loved it...I've always liked his athleticism, but we're seeing a young player with an increasing BBIQ.

Steph and Ball trading off missing 3-pointers...0 for 7 for the 2 of them. That won't last. Love how Jaden towers over Steph though when he's guarding him!

Rotation happening exactly as expected so far. Bones, Shannon, Beringer, and Lyles in the 6-9 roles. Will Finch play a 10th? Clark is my guess.

Rudy to Joan a week ago, en francais: "you know, Joan, you have to go after rebounds when they miss a shot, not just when we do". Since then Joan has been terrific on the defensive boards...3 already tonight.
