Starting thread to put stuff from OTA's.
Interesting battles on OL and WR.

How will the new kids do?

Sorry I forgot you started this thread.
Probably the most interesting thing to come out of these OTAs was Zimmer giving Patterson some love.

It's sorta cool and sad that Greg Jennings wants to come back to The Vikings so bad. It won't happen unless we have a rash of injuries because of the young talent we have at WR and I think there are a few other vet guys I would rather have than Jennings if they were still available. I think Jennings can still be a useful vet WR but isn't a game changer and is best used in the slot.

Monster, I agree that the Patterson love is the surprise of the OTAs so far. He's so athletic and such a likable guy that I'm really cheering for him. But this is certainly his last chance to show he can grasp the mental side of the game. I heard an interview on the radio last night where he was asked to respond to Zim's positive comments that he was running much more precise routes so far. Patterson kind of laughed, and said he was happy to have Zim speak positively about him, but that he still had to get better at route running.
Zim excused everyone early today only halfway through the session...I haven't heard whether it was done in anger or congratulations. I'll ask Adam Zimmer tomorrow morning on the morning dog walk, but I don't expect to get much of an answer :) .

I'll be interested to hear what you find out. :)
It's more important to hear Zimmer give Patterson props but it seems like everyone that has been watching agrees Patterson looks good. It's still just these camps but it's some decent hype. I'm willing to give into the hype a bit because Patterson turned 25 a couple months ago only played division I college for a year and it's his 4th season in the NFL. I always thought there was still a chance he could come around. In addition to all this Patterson seems to be back to his goofy self which is fun. He seemed that was somewhat last year but he wasn't also getting credit for dosing what he was supposed to do on the field and practice etc. It seemed pretty clear he lost his confidence and his fun loving self his 2nd year when Zimmer and Norv took over probably because they were hard on him and didn't baby him getting him the ball. Hopefully it all comes together. Norv likes rotating guys so everyone could get a chance to do something. It's an interesting group they have assembled even without Moritz!
