Anybody watch Albers tonight?

I only saw the first inning, so imagine my surprise when I came home and saw the box score. The guy I saw in the first inning didn't look like he was going to put up 8 1/3 scoreless innings! I saw a funky delivery and good location on his 87MPH fastball, but I didn't see a breaking ball or a changeup. The Kansas City announcers were saying that their scouting report had him as a Bruce Chen clone. Help me out...what did this guy have tonight? Or were the Royals just worn out from running the bases last night?

Location on the fastball will do wonders. Still the best pitch in baseball. Lol
I missed the whole game. Had a nice hoop session with the guys but boy was I pleased to see the result of his debut. Keep it up young fella -- oops, keep it up guy. Too bad he's already 27.

I know you guys like it when I make conclusions based on small sample sizes of statistics, but I'm ready to go out on a limb right now. Their respective first game stats prove that Albers is better than Maddux!
Please let him be 75% of Maddux, and I'll be satisfied.

watched most all the game.....and yeah if he can continue to hit corners and elevate his fastball in certain situations his mid 80s fastball will do him just fine....
on a side note I was kinda pissed when gardy took him out in the 9th.....oh well still a hell of a job

Okay, I'm watching him tonight and the results are the same as his last appearance. He's fun to watch...works quickly, changes speeds, hits the target, gets ahead in the count and hides the ball well. Very impressive.
Some talk by Bremer that he may have a blister. hope not...it would be fun to see him finish this game.
Speaking of Bremer, and Albers, I enjoyed his Animal House reference in the first inning. He referenced Dean Wormer giving Blutarski his mid-term grade point average in describing Alber's ERA: zero point zero zero! Way to go, Dick!

*chanting* Albers! Albers! Albers!
Lol I'm just happy this guy came up and has gone deep in both games but scoreless in both starts!?!?! I could never have asked for this. Consider me a big Albers fan! Still hate Pelfrey!
