Great topic, jester. With all the talent in the minors, it's fun to project how good this team could be. I'm going to join you on the quick promotions of Sano and Buxton...I think both have a legitimate chance of being in the 2015 lineup. I don't think there's much chance of either Stewart or Berrios being ready yet, or of the Twins signing any free agent pitcher that would get me excited. I think they are going to let the lineup develop as they get ready for their under-20 arms to be ready, in hopes of dominating the league from 2016 on. I also think Morneau will still be serviceable in two years, and they will want Doumit's flexibility and power on the roster. Here's my roster:

C Mauer
1B Morneau
2B Rosario
3B Sano
SS Florimon (I like his defense, speed and his flashes of power)
LF Buxton
CF Hicks
RF Parmalee
DH Arcia, Doumit

Bench: Plouffe, Escobar, Pinto, Colabello. Walker

SP Deduno (truly a unique pitcher who has shown this year he can top a rotation for a few more years)
SP Gibson (slow start for him, but I see top of the rotation potential here too)
SP Worley (sorry, but he's young and has a live arm, and has had some success in the bigs)
SP Pelfrey ( I think he can be a solid upper 3's. lower 4's ERA guy, just as he has been the last two months)
SP Albers (need a lefty ,and he currently leads the league in K's)

Closer: Perkins

Others: Who knows, but I would think Thielbar, Pressley, Fein, and Duensing will still be in the mix somewhere. along with Michael Tonkin who is now at Rochester.

I would bet 100 bucks right now that Cuddy will be back with the team to end his career though. I only put a few projected free agents in there, the Twins are so young there gonna have to spend money somewhere

Plus I don't see Buxton playing LF he actually believe or not has a stronger arm than Hicks if he doesn't play CF he's gonna definitely play RF

I made a post like this way back when. I'll practically stick to the same thoughts I had back then, but with a few tweaks.

C - Joe Mauer
1B - Chris Parmelee
2B - Eddie Rosario/Dozier
SS - Pedro Florimon/Eduardo Escobar
3B - Miguel Sano
LF - Oswaldo Arcia
CF - Aaron Hicks
RF - Byron Buxton
DH - Trevor Plouffe (Could flip flop Arcia)

SP1 - Johnny Cueto (Big guess here, but I could see it)
SP2 - Kyle Gibson
SP3 - Alex Meyer
SP4 - Sam Deduno
SP5 - Jose Berrios

LR - Scott Diamond
MR - Vance Worley
MR - Josh Roenicke
MR - Ryan Pressly
MR - Caleb Thielbar
SU - Casey Fien
CP - Glen Perkins

I'm probably missing a relief arm, but from Roenicke down, I think that's a hell of a unit. I'm going on a limb with Worley, but the guy does have some punch in his arm. I could definitely see him as a good relief arm if he had his mentality right. I didn't bother making the bench bats, but I can later if someone really wanted to see it.

All in all, this team would be a good for the now and future. I really like the direction we're heading.

I like your guy's optimism with the young arms being ready by then or picking up quality SP free agents, but I don't see either happening. I think 2016 will be when Berrios and Stewart are ready. You might see Meyer or May by then, if all goes well. Here's my 2015 rotation:

Gibson
Deduno
Diamond
Meyer
Pelfrey/cheap FA

I'd like to see Cuddy back to end his career, but I think he will still be too productive (and expensive). Kind of like Torii this year.

I still think Morneau gets traded this year to a contender-which means Doumit has to stay...great flexibility as someone else mentioned. Hopefully Parmalee keeps improving, but I don't have much hope for him.

Why do people like Pelfrey? I can't stand watching him and I doubt he's brought back next year.

I don't like Pelfrey either, and I hope he is gone next year. But I can easily see them keeping him to battle with Worley for the 5th spot.

sadly enough, I think Pelfrey and Worley will both still be around in 2015.
