Twins win the rights to discuss a deal with him.

Anybody have any thoughts?

To me if they sign this guy there's a deal in place to send Plouffe to Milwaukee for Lucroy. I also don't care what league you play in 53 home runs with 85 walks and average of 343 is damn impressive

Man the Twins have a bunch of power guys. Where the heck do they play everybody?

If the Brewers trade Lucroy I would imagine they would be looking for young players not Plouffe.

Report is they want a established guy and a prospect or two. My guess is a Plouffe, Polanco and Arcia. Plouffe is only 29 he's not that old lol

It's hard not to be excited about this new generation of Pohlads who seem to be much more willing to spend to win than Carl was. That said, it's kind of a head scratcher that they are willing to pay so much for another first baseman. With Mauer over there for another 3 years and Park destined for DH, Sano will either replace Plouffe at third or move to one of the corner outfield positions. My guess is they still like Plouffe enough at third, and Sano is now destined for the outfield. If so, it's crowded out there now with Buxton, Hicks, Rosario, Kepler and Sano. Maybe Terry moves someone in a deal, but until he does, it will be interesting to see where all the pieces end up.

Gut feeling says we make a trade for a bonafide starting pitcher. James Shields is a name out and about, and so is Sonny Gray. We have the firepower in the farm system to go get a guy, make a big splash. I'd be very aggressive in getting Gray.

That's a lot to give up for a 29 year old catcher. I get you have to give up a lot to pry a guy like that away and we have a surplus but man. Of course we also need catching help more than pretty much anything so...

This will be interesting. Not enough room for all of this talent and a (Mauer) contract.

Hopefully we get to see a few of his bat flips against the Royals, they will not appreciate them at all...

I haven't seen anything that Lucroy is available. Is that really a thing?

He was a piece that MIL said they probably wouldn't move last year when the whole MIL team was pretty much for trade last year.
