It is getting closer. Looking at camp battles.

D-Line is interesting to me. If Shamar Stephen starts I will be disappointed in Jaleel Johnson or Jalyn Holmes. They should be able to beat him out. Stephen is a great depth guy but has limited upside.

Alexander Mattison is key since Dalvin Cook has not proven to stay healthy. He needs to prove that 4th round pick was well used.

Shamar wasn't signed for upside they signed him because he is solid and they paid him money that suggests they think he is at worst a high quality depth piece. I don't consider it a disappointment if those guys can't beat him out. If they don't get on the field much...especially on some passing downs that's gonna be a problem/disappointment for me.

I understand about Shamar. My thoughts are if nobody is ready to beat him out to start the season we might not have the upside in reserves we hoped.

This is off topic but they played this clip of Brett Favre on the local ESPN station this morning after talking about various player sound bites. Pretty hilarious how Favre learned about nickel defenses.

I will have to check that out later. I am at the airport in Toronto. I was up here negotiating with the Blue Jays on behalf of the Twins.

Anyways back to the Vikings.

4 games, no lets make that 8 games suspended.

We got him.

I liked him coming out of college. Former Bronco. What is not to like?

You knew who this guy was so that's something! :) My friend messaged me about this move and the screenshot message that he wrote with it was "Wow". I was about to write back "who?" And he said "I mean Who?" Lol

Anyway he sounds like a better system fit than Roc Thomas.

Funny! There are a lot of serviceable RBs on the street each year.

Interesting readout of Pats camp. I like what the Saints did with Taysom Hill. It certainly gives you more roster options if you 3rd string QB can play multiple positions effectively. It also is a good way to get them some game action and throw in different wrinkles.

Joe Webb was the trailblazer in having a 3rd QB that was valuable elsewhere.

I swear he is still on someone's roster somewhere.
