Getting himself out of last inning was huge.

"Phil Hughes has allowed a leadoff hit in all four innings but has yet to give up a run. Has been helped by five strikeouts."

Those runs MIN pissed away in the previous innings might hurt now. Tie ball game.

The cops showed up to arrest Hughes because it's against the law to have a twins pitcher get through the 6th inning with a 0 on the board

Didn't see the game tonight, but from the boxscore it looks like Hughsey had an outing like Pelfrey's first start this year...lights out through 5, and then the wheels totally coming off. That's three poor starts for Hughes, an ERA of 7.20 and he hasn't won since last July. We need to start talking about leash length, for both him and Pelfrey who has had two bad starts. Last year Worley got 10 starts before being sent down, but we really had no other options. Now we have Deduno miscast in the bullpen, so I think the leash for both will be six starts max.

What happened to Hughes tonight in the 6th?

Oh Pelfrey... Why art thou sucketh so bad...

@ CLE, 5.1 IP, L, 3 ER, 3 BB, 81 pitches

vs OAK, 5.0 IP, L, 6 ER, 4 BB, 104 pitches

vs TOR, 4.1 IP, L (probably), 4 ER, 5 BB, 95 pitches

Can't believe we re-signed him. Can't believe he's getting paid what he is. Can't stand watching this guy on the bump. I'd rather watch Florimon at the dish.
