Outfielders also, theoretically, get banged up less often than infielders. It's also an easy (easier) position to learn and get decent at. He was supposedly making improvements at 3B, but I think his defensive ceiling is much higher in the outfield than it was as an infielder. I supported that idea from the beginning, which was basically when he had to move out of the shortstop position many years ago.

Sano / Buxton / Rosario

Plouffe / Escobar / Dozier / Mauer

I like the case you are making there it's interesting.

Plouffe could easily have another 5 seasons left in him but is there another option at 3b that the Twins may have in mind to move Sano to the OF? Maybe Polonco?

Good point about Sano's arm, cam...he'll fit in well with the other great arms we'll have in the outfield. And while he doesn't have anywhere near Buxton's and Rosario's speed, he is surprisingly quick for a 250 pound man and won't hurt us at all there. I hope he really uses this offseason to learn how to become an outfielder so he's ready to go in March.

That is a really good looking defensive team you lay out above, and if the new catcher can throw out runners better than Suzuki, we get stronger there also.

I say this to everyone who asks me if Sano can play in the outfield. If josh freaking willingham can play left field, Sano will be just fine.

Opps. Missed OF-1B Daniel Palka making the team[all prospect team] as well. Was traded to Twins for Chris Herrmann during AFL play
