Well then maybe he should work on not being such a waste of space all the time and actually pitch his way into the rotation. I would send his ass to AAA for doing something like this.

My brother who usually tend to give vet pitchers the benefit of the doubt basically ripped the idea he had that history to fall back on. We both were thinking what if Pelfrey's agent had come out and said something like this last year? Nolosco should be worried about pitching well enough and actually being healthy and finding a way to help the team that gave him a bunch of money and have gotten very little in return.

Park with another home run today, solo shot that gives him 3 so far. It was off guy who throws 92-93 mph too. I hope these are signs it won't take him long to adjust to the pitching here.

I know it is spring training, but I think he will do just fine this year. Has he played in the field at all this spring?

I don't think so, but he won the equivalent of the gold glove award in Korea last year at first base.

Btw if anyone interested his nick name in Korea was Park Bang. I think we can up with a better one.

Twins right-hander Ricky Nolasco, competing for a spot in the rotation, made his third appearance and second start of the spring. He went three innings, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

"I feel good, arm feels good," Nolasco said. "Started rushing a little bit there with all those walks, but for the most part thought I made some good pitches, got some ground balls, missed a few good pitches."

How about proving that you should be in the starting rotation.

He can feel however he wants. 3 runs, four hits and 2 walks in 3 innings is horseshit for a guy with his attitude/ego/expectations. He's a garbage pitcher and frankly we should cut him before he becomes a bad locker room presence because there is no way he's getting that last spot at this rate. There's a reason nobody has offered jack shit for his services via trade. He's a terrible pitcher on a terrible contract. Admit the mistake and move on. Stop waiting for him to turn it around. It's not going to happen if he has the attitude of feeling good after a bad start.

Sure you want to see pitchers put up good numbers in ST but I'll pass on roasting him for now for saying feeling good even with bad numbers. This is when guys work on their stuff especially vets. I'm not suggesting he is good or anything because I'm not exactly pulling for him but I'll wait and see what his numbers look like later in the spring.

As for cutting him might as well wait a while and see if he finds something or you have injuries like Pelfrey last year. I doubt it will work out even that well but I'd hold out to see if I could get something for the millions I am giving him. I wouldn't be sad if they cut him though. lol

I don't think we should or will cut Nolasco. He's a guy who has been a solid back of the rotation guy during his career, and the Twins will keep him as insurance in case of injuries. But based on how he has pitched this spring vs. the other candidates, he doesn't deserve the 5th starting spot. I'm not worried about Ricky being a cancer in the clubhouse when Mollie puts him in the long relief role. Whether he is starting or not, Ricky is kind of a crabby, keep-to-himself kind of guy, and will never have much of an impact in the clubhouse. He's was sort of invisible with the Dodgers, and he's invisible with the Twins.

On a more positive note, it's great to see Park with 3 HR's in his first 19 ABs...and all on fast balls. Terry Ryan is saying to stay cool and wait to see how he does when he starts seeing sliders and splitters. But after playing in Korea for 8 years, Park knows how to hit the funky stuff...lots of that in Korea. The concern was he hadn't seen the kind of heat he'll see in the US, but so far it hasn't been a problem. He may lead the league in strike outs this year, but we also may get 30 dingers along with the K's.
