Week 4: Da Bears

Post by bleedspeed »

An important division game. Who would have thought the Bears and Vikings would be trailing the Lions after 3 weeks?

Mitch Trubisky. Free win if they continue to not be able to run the ball. Their offense is just bad.

I talked with my friend about it during the game. The Bears don't have anyone that really scares a defense. Sure someone will make a player here or there but it's at best mostly some solid offensive players. Stop the run and play disciplined (especially don't let Mitch run around) and make them beat you. I'm not sure how good or not good Mitch is but it's not like he has sole awesome weapons to work with which doesn't help because no I don't think he is some awesome QB waiting to happen. They may. It need him to be awesome if the D is good and he can just extend some plays and run for extra yards and not screw up. That wouldn't be a bad thing to have for this Vikings team either. Unfortunately both teams (and fans) have a little higher hope for that position based on the resources spent.

That defense looks pretty good although Washington was making things interesting until Keenum fumbled the ball on that sneak...which was his 3rd fumble of the game if you include the earlier one negated by a penalty.

So is Sherels. Sherels gives them a top punt returner a sure handed one also plus he is an overall ST ace. In addition he is a guy that can actually be a solid vet in the secondary if needed. His size is a problem but he will he in the right place.

I had to laugh when I heard Treadwell was back. He is familiar with the system and still is young at 24. Supposedly he has some set offs in his contract that might give them some cap relief for the money he is making on his current deal. If they are able to sign him back and he is basically playing for free in terms of the cap it's hard to complain about that. In addition he was playing a ton of ST snaps in preseason. I'm sorta pulling for the guy. Wouldn't it be kinda funny if he and Doctson ended up on the roster next year? :) this team is about running the ball and they get a guy that likes to block. Let's do this.

I didn't hear about Sherels. We surely can use him.

One thing that doesn't get brought up is we are playing the Bears coming off a Monday night game. That gives us an extra day to prepare and rest.
