I don't really have much to say except I am nervous and confident at the same time.

One thing I will add is that one thing to consider and watch for is 3rd downs. The Vikings are #1 in stopping teams with 25% conversion rate. The worst conversion rate for any one team offensively is Miami at 31%. Vikings are 3rd on offense with 43%. The Saints are at best middle of the road offensively and defensively on 3rd down. Offense obviously they probably get lots of big plays to offset being 19th converting 3rd downs. The Vikings may be able to grind things out on both ends to some extent.

It's the Vikings so we have every reason to be nervous. The offense will score 17 or more points so if the defense shows up there should be little to worry about. But again, it's the Vikings we're talking about.

My nerves have been slowly building all week. My only consolation is that losing this game wouldn't be a creative enough disappointment by Vikings standards. The rule is that each gut wrenching loss has to top the last one.

98' still tops all for me. I was sick for a week after that. Not kidding. My stomach was in pain. I was so confident that they could never lose. Even all game I was confident, that was until Gary missed. Then I got worried. I ended up smashing a chair at Hooters at Mall of America. It cracked but no one noticed. lol

Anyways, that taught me to never get to confident. I hope we win but I expect to lose. haha

This week the local sports radio station asked a question about the worst loss you experienced as a sports fan. Well it's pretty much down to the Vikings for me. The Twins and Wolves just didn't have anything and I don't have a college team I am that invested in because I am from South Dakota. So which playoff game that the Vikings lost hurts the most? Idk the 98 game I wondered if we would pull it off with Ed McDaniel playing on one leg and 2 backups at LB down the stretch. The Farve NO NFC championship game nobody played well enough to win that one. We weren't supposed to be in that Seahawks game and we almost stole it.

The one that come up in my memory that may hurt as much as any even though I was just a kid was that Darrin Nelson dropped pass in the 1987 NFC championship game against Washington. It probably hurt little more at the time because I was a big fan of Nelson. Sigh

The Vikings have had some crushing defeats for sure. Ranking them for me would be the 98, 87, and then 09. 98 team was amazing and had a bad game at the wrong time and still almost won it. 87 team was lucky to be there and it felt like that underdog Twins team. 09 we got murdered.

I was young in 87' too, that one wasn't as bad as 98'. Make a FG, catch an INT, IDK, Football Gods got the Vikings cursed. Defense wasn't that good and it came home to roost that day.

I was thinking today what are the odds all things being equal of winning at least 1 SB in 57 years, I would say it's got to be 80% or so. I'm too lazy to figure it out. It's actually bad luck to not have at least one by now.
