Week 1: Dirty Birds
The games start to count. How will the new-look offense look? Will the defense continue to be good?

Re: Week 1: Dirty Birds
Saw we are 4 point favorites. Falcon fans are worried about Diggs and Theilen. They think our DL is on the decline with Griffin/Joseph on the decline, Stephen is a journeyman, and Hunter is a beast.
I think the DL will be good early in the season but will be more worried about them as the season grinds on.

Diggs sat out practice with hamstring issue. Everyone else practiced even DB Hughes.

Sounds like Diggs is fine and Julio Jones might sit out.

Is Cousins good? I still don't know.

Not sure about the faith, but I am keeping the thread alive.

It somewhat depends on what your definition of good is. Cousins certainly faltered at times but he still competed 70% of his passes and three for 30 TDs and 10 INTs. That's not too shabby. And that was with a new team and offensive coordinator who was fired and then a new offensive coordinator during the season along with a pretty bad offensive line that may have been worse than the one Keenum had the previous year.
It's moderately interesting to think about what the Vikings could have done differently last year with their QB situation. I don't feel like anything I can think of puts us in some sort of obvious great spot as a team or at the QB position. I like both guys but at this point I'd rather pay the extra money for Cousins than Keenum unless we somehow made the right olineman signing with the extra money but I feel skeptical about that. There were other options too but nothing comes to mind as some no brainer move.

Cousins is good enough to win a Super Bowl with. We just need to be able to run the ball and play great defense. He can be as good as or better than Mark Rypien in my opinion with a good OL.
