It's always hard for me to blame a defense that is defending a short field for the whole first half because of Cousins not protecting the ball. They weren't good, but they had no chance after that opening drive playing almost the whole first half on their side of the field. I am worried about Barr though. He's back to playing terribly and looking lost out there. He and Kendricks just seem to be getting roasted by anything the opposing offense throws at them be it the run or pass. RB's and TE's in space is supposed to be their specialty to shut down and they are getting burned a lot. As for the offense Cousins should have to donate his check to charity this week because that was just unacceptable from the 89 million dollar man. He had no pocket presence whatsoever just bouncing off guys and moving terribly within the pocket with the ball low and in prime position to be stripped on a sack. He was terribly inaccurate in the first half missing throws by a lot. Just a completely unacceptable performance against a garbage team at home.

I am not going to overreact to this. My concern is Barr, OL, and CB depth.

The OC needs to get work with the bullets he has. Which includes a weak OL.

I said it earlier that Barr was my weak link to this offense. I also wanted to draft his replacement.

The CB depth is really shocking to me. When Newman didn't make the team I figured we had young guys jumping ahead of him and it was not because of Newman losing it, but because they showed they are ready. Waynes going down shows they are not ready. I still do have high hopes for Hughes though.

With the Wolves falling apart, the Wild getting old, and the Twins being, well, the Twins, at least we can count on our Vikings, right? Right?

Watched the condensed game this morning. I sadly knew the outcome before doing so.

Weird this team sucked so bad. I'm not gonna overreact too much to this game though. This team is legitimately talented...well the Oline is the problem we thought it would be.

A couple other things that haven't been mentioned.

Positives:

Treadwell caught the ball!!!

CJ ham even with the fumble had some nice moments.

Special teams sucked. Quit running the ball out of the end zone if you aren't going to get a decent return. The offense had bad field position all day. Punting wasn't good. Hughes doesn't inspire confidence as a punt returner. This stuff didn't win and lose but special teams has been a problem every game this year. Not sure what the deal is there but it needs to be fixed...we have been saying that for weeks.

This is not good. I wonder if BRob was still here if this would be as big a problem.

What details there are out there it's pretty troubling. I don't see how Robinson being gone from the team for like 3 weeks could have had much influence here. I'd guess there is some significant mental health issue. I'm hoping the best for Everson and thankful nobody was physically injured.

BRob was his best friend on the team and him being let go likely could have upset his balance. I am hoping for the best for him as well.

Honestly my first thought when I read it was CTE. That is completely unacceptable if it's because he's mad B Rob is gone, but I doubt that's the case. That kind of behavior signals some bad mental chemistry which is unfortunately THE main drawback of playing professional football.

I am not thinking he is mad BRob is gone, but I am sure BRob helped keep him in balance. He went on and on about how BRob and Jared Allen helped him become a pro.

For a person who works in the mental health field for a living. I highly doubt it has anything to do with Brob or being a professional.

The mind is a really funny thing. I see it everyday. I love what the vikings are doing for him and I could care less if he plays football ever again. Get healthy big Ev things are so much more important then football
