I have been more interested in the players then actually where they will get drafted for the most part. I have not followed the top of the draft, but if I am the Browns I would really consider picking 2 QBs. If the Giants go QB it would make a ton of sense. You will have teams that need a QB in a tough spot. I also think they need to consider drafting a R3 or R4 QB.

I saw this article on Viking needs by position. I think trading down would be best unless someone falls to them they love. I think you can get a good C/G in second round, but I think all the tackle options might be off the board. I like the LT GERON CHRISTIAN as an pick in the 1st and he should be there. I don't see him making it past the Patriots. If they can drop back 10 spots and pick up at late 3rd or early 4th rounder that would be a great move. We could get a G/C and another area of need. My last draft I did went very heavy on LB's to replace Barr. It also makes more sense with Brothers out and not being anything more than a special teams guy.

McShay's Vikings Team needs?

http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/insider/story/_/id/23229323/2018-nfl-draft-todd-mcshay-details-top-five-needs-all-32-teams

Minnesota Vikings
Top needs: OG/RT, CB, DE, WLB, DT

Minnesota's most glaring need this offseason was the quarterback position, and it hopes it has solved that issue with a fully guaranteed three-year deal for Kirk Cousins. The offensive line was much improved with Mike Remmers, Riley Reiff (free agency) and Pat Elflein (third round, 2017) last season, but will need help after Joe Berger's retirement. Depending on if Remmers kicks inside or stays at right tackle, there will be a hole along the O-line. On defense, Xavier Rhodes is a stud, but the only sure thing. Minnesota could use some depth there, as well as some depth at defensive end behind Danielle Hunter and 2017 fourth-rounder Ben Gedeon at weakside linebacker.

With Brothers on the suspended list the Vikings have a grand total of 6 LBs. I'm a fan of Eric Wilson but after the starters they barely have any NFL experience behind those guys. Of course if that was really something they cared about I'm sure they could sign a decent FA. I think someone has signed Gerald Hodges but I'd bet their are other cheap options. :) Anyway im sure they will draft at least one LB and probably get one before the 6th round bonanza of picks they have.

Fred Warner and Oren Burks are my choices. Safety LB types that are tall, over 230lbs, and fast. More coverage guys that goal line guys that take on lineman like Ben Gedeon.

I'll say Josh Jackson falls to them. Can never have too many CB's and other then Rhodes, the other CB's are meh.

All I actually know is:

Spielman said they have 5 different positions they are considering drafting at that spot. I'd be surprised if CB isn't one of them and obviously online and probably LB.

There has been lots of talk about the Vikings trading down. It makes sense and Spielman loves picks and he does move around in the draft. He LOVES this time of year and now he has a super magic electronic draft board so...look out! Lol

I have a feeling someone will drop at CB/S/LB/DL that we will have to pick and should. I would be very happy to draft Josh Jackson.

FInal Mock

Round 1
LB LEIGHTON VANDER ESCH BOISE STATE
We had a few guards on the board that I liked, but Esch is a top 20 talent. He is penciled in for Barrs spot. Not sure if we can trade Barr tonight and get a 4th for him and cap help for 2018 or not.

Round 2
OT GERON CHRISTIAN LOUISVILLE
All my desired OG/C were off the board. I am fine with that when Geron is still on the board and has best upside of any LT in the draft with 3 years of playing experience as a junior. I took him at 30 in my last mock.

Round 3
DL RASHEEM GREEN - USC
Wow can't believe he is here. Top 10 talent in 2019 if he stayed in school. He will be a 3rd down specialist and groomed to be a starter in 2019 at RE/LE/3DT.

Round 4
RB KALEN BALLAGE ARIZONA STATE
I was hoping for Skyler Phillips, but he went one pick before us to Bills. I decided to go RB here in Kalen. He is a RB that is big and can do it all. He is the 1-2 punch with Cook. Showed more at Senior Bowl. Scored 8 TD's against Texas Tech.

Round 6

6.1
TE TROY FUMAGALLI - WISCONSIN
All around TE. He is a grinder that produces.

6.2
DL JOHN FRANKLIN-MYERS - STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
Basically Rasheen Green equal from small program. More depth and tons of upside.

6.3
LB OREN BURKS - VANDERBILT
Safety/LB hybrid. Leader and good character.

Round 7
CB JEREMY REAVES - SOUTH ALABAMA
Wanted a CB here. I wanted one earlier, but other positions had better value. I really like PARRY NICKERSON-TULANE & JALEN DAVIS-UTAH STATE as late CB's, but didn't see them on the draft list at all.
