The Vikings have dove deeply into the AAF signing a bunch of guys including like 3 DBs. Jordan Martin is an interesting guy 6'2" former CB that turned into a safety. Looks like he had a good pro day with some good numbers and ran around a 4.5 40. Could be a good special team we and grow into more.

Karter Schult is a guy that flat out dominates against lesser competition. His last 2 years and Northern Iowa he had like 31 sacks and mid 40's in tackles for loss. There was highlights of him in some spring game for hopeful prospects and I was watching it and was thinking "This is his from one game?!?!?" Ok it was from 2 games but there were a lot of highlights for a DL where I would think in a game like that he doesn't even play all the defensive snaps. Vikings should just line up Harrison Smith a bunch of CBs and pass rushers and see what happens. Lol

I have not followed the AAF guys much. My understanding is they are players that didn't make the practice squad for teams. I am not sure why the NFL has not gotten behind something like this though to develop players. Maybe they feel the pool is already big enough.

I do look at a guy like Jordan Martin as an interesting pickup, but also look at the draft and see a few big CB's in this draft that won't stick at CB and will move to safety. It will be interesting what we do. I would have liked to see us grab someone for the OL or DL.

Bleed you should read up on the demise of the AAF. It sounds like the NFL was actually open to working with the league.

As for the players some of them had NFL experience like Smith the Safety named Smith they signed. Some were guys that were on practice squads and were cut. That LB the Vikings signed Notre Dame was on the packers PS for a couple weeks before getting cut. I think there is real NFL talent beyond even PS guys. I'm posting here but As far as football goes I don't really care that much about the sport going forward to some extent. It's a shame this latest league ended up another failure because I think it showed more promise than most expected including myself. It also is a real shame for players that clearly want to play the game and want a chance. Put one of those teams in Lincoln or Omaha and I think it would draw pretty good as well as have some players to draw from here at Nebraska.

I will have to read up on it. I read some about it and the players association didn't help. It would be great to see them make a true joint league. Doing it in different markets makes sense to me. How cool would it be to see Sloter playing in a league like this? Even Aviante Collins, Chad Beebe, Devante Downs, Jalyn Holmes, or Tashawn Bower. That would make some NFL fans take notice. They would need to work this out with next CBA.

Vikings waive CB Jalen Myrick. I was hoping he would make it with us. He could have gotten looks in the AAF.

We seem to be looking at CB's we can develop. I liked the Kris Byod pick. I am not happy seeing our OL depth being depleted by releasing Adam Bisnowaty though.

Interesting to look at who over the cap has projected for the comp picks.

It may be worth noting that the Vikings still have 19 out of 90 positions going to olineman. Do they have a lot of CB and DE? Sure but those are also spots they in theory are good at finding and developing guys. I'm particularly ok with them trying to find defensive lineman because they are legit good at finding guys at that position. I won't be surprised if they end up signing another olineman at some point though. I wonder how long it will take to decide the long snapping battle.

5/22=22% 90*22%= 19.8

That number of OL shocked me until I did the math.
