The 40 times are always hilarious. One of my favorites was the athletic wonderkind Manziel ran a 4.68. Wow!!!!
Back in the day (late 90's early 2000's) I remember reading an article about speed in the NFL (Randy Moss's speed came up in the conversation) and they talked to a well known track coach and they said something like "basically anything around 4.4 in the 40 is fast. If they do that they are fast anything close to that...they are still fast. Obviously running with pads and football gear and playing the game is different than just running in a straight line over 40 yards" So the point is if some pretty good sized dude is running a 4.5 it's still fast enough probably. Who was the last amazing sub 4.4 guy to do anything significant?

I'd say Tyreke Hill was pretty electric this year. Chris Johnson had an MVP caliber year even though it was just 1 year a while back. 4.5 is still very fast. I just thought it was funny because the way McShay always talked about him you'd think he was the next Chris Johnson and it turns out he's just pretty normal.

Yeah like I say the 40 tile thing is amusing. Of course maybe his speed with pads on is more exciting than his 40 speed.
I really didn't pay much attention to the NFL outside of the Vikings this year so honestly I really had no clue who Hill was (despite him playing for the local team around here) until recently when I was reading draft profiles and he was mentioned. I just looked up some stuff about him after you mentioned him (thanks for doing so) and...he had a pretty bad incident too and had a pretty nice season. I couldn't help thinking about Mixon who has a video which is worse for teams to have to deal with because people can see it and that parking ticket incident which wasn't a good look. Somebody is gonna take a chance on Mixon unless the vetting goes pretty poorly on him. I predict he will get drafted by someone.
