I have not watched it and likely won't, but it sounds like we had some young guys produce. The offense produced. We traded for a kicker and released Kevin McDermott.

I watched the whole game. Here are some basic somewhat random thoughts.
Wile wasn't particularly good in his 2 punts. Nothing concerning but outkicked his coverage the first punt and an underwhelming inside the 20 2nd punt.
Cousins and the offense looked good. They liked to me like they were going to get him on the Love more than last year which i like.
The RBs looked pretty good except the Ameer fumble. Mattison seems to always be able to get another yard.
Hercules was winning against his guy. I think he will sometimes take himself out of plays but he looked legit against the guys he was facing.
You can't get too into snap counts and all that But Jordon Taylor didn't get into the game till late in the game and barely played. On the drive where Mattison scored the TD from Cousins Treadwell was in as a blocker in a 3 point stance. Taylor has no guaranteed money on his deal. Plenty of time left for the roster to sort out but that was interesting Bisi looked good. Badet looked good returning kicks.
Sloter looked good.
The offensive line looked fine which probably is a really great sign. Lol Sure their were some penalties but it's the first person game that should've somewhat expected.

I fear we cut Sloter. He lands on a team that QB is injured and he becomes another Rich Gannon type QB.

It was a kid when Gannon played and I remember him playing in the preseason but honestly I don't see the same physical ability in Sloter than Gannon had. Sloter to me looks like an above average athlete for QB (relatively speaking as the position has quite a few god athletes) but I think Gannon was a better athlete and more refined as a player. I still like Sloter though but I felt really strongly about Gannon the cannon...I think there is a good chance the Vikings still end up keeping 3 QBs unless sloter and Browning suck from here on out.

Gannon was special. I was more or less pointing out I think Sloter would go on to do big things. It would interesting to see him play earlier in the games. Oddly the Patriots drafted Ganon t to be a RB. Sloter was a WR for his first 3 years of college. He is on a different growth projectory then most young QBs. .

Supposedly Treadwell is on the trade block. My guess that means some teams have actually called up the Vikings about dealing for him. I can't imagine the Vikings are suddenly like "Hey folks we finally are willing to move Treadwell". Lol I don't think a team really gives up anything for him. Maybe a team that has some young guys that didn't really turn out to be what they thought they would be wouldn't mind trading a late round pick for a 24 year old guy with some NFL experience that also likes to block. The link below is the block against the saints he got flagged for last week. Also if they trade him they save paying him his base salary so that would be a nice cap savings.

I think they will take a bag of peanuts for him. I wonder if they would be willing to trade a pick for someone else to pay him.

I bet they'd throw in a bag of peanuts.

Just finished watching the condensed game and here are some takeaways.
Browning didn't play so It seems pretty obvious Sloter is well ahead of him and he had another nice performance which could be putting in the backup conversation. The Vikings passing game was really efficient. I'll be interested to hear more about what happened on that pick 6.
Boone looks really impressive sort of reminds me of a younger Ameer...without the fumbling problems
Mattison continues to look good.
Badet's Speed is legit. Bisi looks so versatile and can move in space. Treadwell caught the ball!!! Lol
Kearse was everywhere. Part of that 2nd team defense is just loaded. I agree with the people that are worried about CB depth.

I was out enjoying the night. How is the OL looking?
Kearse seems like a real matchup nightmare for teams. He seems like he has the skill to get away playing 5 or 6 positions on defense.
