2019 NFL DRAFT

They are saying he might be able to be had for a 3rd rounder. I am pro-Sloter so think either he is the backup now or we should move on. I think Rosen still has some upside and can be a legit QB in the league.
I still remember how the Falcon's traded Farve to Packers after his first year.
I didn't see Rosen play enough to have a read on him but a 3rd rounder? Hmmm if that's true did he like kinda suck? Not sure I believe that one.

I think it is all about the market. Not sure how much of a market there is. I don't see any of the QBs from last year other than Mayfield being worth a first-round pick in my eyes.

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
I think we kind of hamstrung ourselves with the Cousins deal. Can't really bring in a young backup without signaling to him there's now doubt in his abilities on this team. And Rosen would have the same problems here. That Arizona line killed him last year and we won't be any better in all likelihood. I think we just need to go all in on Cousins for the next two years and then we can change up the game plan from there if needed.

When you sign a guy like Cousins you do it because you didn't think you need to go after someone else. How many teams have a guy that they know for sure is the guy they aren't looking to replace? Half the league? Everyone else is probably open to finding other options. I agree the Vikings can't be bringing in some guy that has some perceived chance of taking Cousins job and for no other reason they need to use those resources to improve the roster. They are already paying Cousins big money they can't be spending draft picks or some money on a guy that could take over.
That doesn't mean they can't look for a young developmental guy. They already have Sloter who Kubiak I believe likes. Maybe Sloter won't even become a good backup but I do think he is the type of guy they can hope to develop. It will be interesting to see what they do at the backup spot. I'd guess unless they are really sold on Sloter they bring in someone that has some starting experience or maybe even resign Siemian if the price is cheap.
As for Rosen isnt he more of a pocket guy with somewhat limited athleticism? Kinda like post injuries late 20's Bradford? That type of guy isn't going to fit into a lot of systems. He doesn't really fit here. Isn't there concerns about Rosen the guy attitude or something? Who knows when the dust settles he may still be with the Cardinals as their guy and they trade their pick for value.

With the news about Roc we should start thinking RB.

Based on the report I read. Roc doesn't seem to be the smartest guy.
We got CJ Ham back so we are set. :) I do think Ham could be a guy that is utilized more. I think he is a guy that could actually help fill the void left by Murray. It will be interesting to see what happens with Murray though. What market is there for him and what does he prioritize? I like Mike Boone too and I'd bet they can bring back Ameer quite cheaply. Roc and Boone were kinda luxury items. If the idea is to draft another RB that would leave CJ Ham and Cook as vets. It might be nice to have someone that has some experience. There will be guys with solid resumes that will come cheap. I'm not against drafting a guy in the 5th round or later but I don't see it as a priority.

I am thinking we get a RB with our 6th and 7th round picks. UDFAs could workout like Roc and Boone, but why not just get the guy you want later in the draft.

Post Combine Mock on https://thedraftnetwork.com/mock-draft-machine
18 Andre Dillard, OT Washington State - LT of future
50 Charles Omenihu, IDL Texas - DT to replace Richardson
81 Andy Isabella, WR UMASS - slot guy fast shifty that we are lacking
120 Parris Campbell, WR Ohio State - Fast and big WR could come along as 4th WR
190 Tyree Jackson, QB Buffalo - 6'7" 260lb QB with rocket arm and 4.6 speed. Could he play TE?
209 Kahale Warring, TE San Diego State - up and coming TE with great athletic profile
247 Mitch Hyatt, OT Clemson - 4 year starter at LT. Former 5 star recruit
250 Blake Cashman, LB Minnesota - Gopher kid with great combine performance. We neede at LB.

He better be the LT of the upcoming season too! They need effective starters on the line now, not projects for a couple years down the line when their key players are leaving their prime.
