I think the consistency Wright would have brought would have been more valueable BUT my guess is that he would have been limited in his role although probably would have gotten some more run than the other guys. He played over 500 snaps for the Panthers last year and Adrich Robinson played half that and had some nice production including 5 tds. Beebe being the next undersized slot guy would be awesome. A Cole Beasley level of player would be a nice boast. Which reminds me (since he was a coach for the Cowboys) it was sad to see Wade Wilson passed away a couple days ago.
That was sad about Wade. He was an easy guy to root for. It was interesting looking back on his career and seeing how much patience we had with QB's than. In today's NFL it seems like if they are not successful by year 3 they are tossed aside.
I want Kyle back, but think we should draft a TE in the first 4 rounds.
T.J. Hockenson is someone I would consider at 18. I would love to trade back into mid 20's and pick up another pick. Gentry sounds like a Kleinsasser type and could be available in the 3rd round.

2/2/19: Hockenson was a surprise early-entry into the 2019 NFL Draft. It wasn't a bad decision though, as he could be the first tight end selected. While splitting targets with Noah Fant in 2018, Hockenson totaled 49 receptions for 760 yards with six touchdowns. He has good size and showed some impressive receiving skills over the past season. To go along with being a receiving mismatch weapon, Hockenson is a quality blocker who should quickly develop into a three-down starter in the NFL.
Zach Gentry*, TE, Michigan
Height: 6-8. Weight: 262.
Projected 40 Time: 4.80.
Projected Round (2019): 3-5.
2/2/19: For the NFL, Gentry projects as a Y tight end who contributes as a blocker with the ability to contribute some as a receiver. With his size, Gentry should be a nice red-zone target. In 2018, he notched 32 receptions for 514 yards and two touchdowns. In 2017, he totaled 17 catches for 303 yards and a touchdown.
I was messaging a friend about what the Vikings might do with various guys that make a lot of money this year and we were talking about trading Rhodes or Waynes. He said Waynes was younger and Rhodes wasn't as good this season. Waynes is only 2 years younger than Rhodes. A bit later it hit me that Waynes is gonna turn 27 this summer. How many CBs get paid big money after they turn 30? I wonder if the Vikings could offer him a decent chunk of guaranteed money and get him to sign long term at a solid number and maybe even lower his cap number a bit for this season? If Waynes got hurt this year like tore an ACL man he might never get a big payday. He might have some incentive because of his age to do a deal that is still a lot of money but not all he could get a year from now if healthy and played well. It makes sense for the Vikings to cash in on that CB depth if you can get value back. IF...that value was there as much as I hate to say it they should look to move Rhodes because of age and injuries and salary but I think that's gonna be hard for them to consider because they have invested in him and when healthy has been a very good player for a few years.
It is a good question. I would rather keep Waynes. He has been healthier and Rhodes has really had a hard time staying healthy throughout the season. The type of nagging injuries that Rhodes has had seem like things a good training program could correct though.
I worry Linval's days best days are behind him too I think if you can this is the year you move on from Linval, Griffen, and Rhodes. The problem with Linval is that we don't have a successor on the team and his contract is hard to change due to all the dead money. I wonder if there will be a team with cap space that will be buyers like the Rams were last year.
I think there are 4 OT's that could or should go in 1st round. If they are gone or someone drops you have to go another direction. I also like the idea of trying to sign Matt Paradis if the price is right and he is going to be able to suit up for OTA's. He knows the zone blocking scheme and hadn't missed a game before breaking his leg this year. He was on track for top 3 centers until the injury. He would allow Elfein to move to RG. I think he could thrive there.
Glad he has reached out to Klint. It would be a very good sign if the team decides he is ready to be the backup and we don't go after a vet. After spending 2 years here he should be ready to take the next step and it helps that he knows the incoming coaching staff.
