While the Vikings are a bit of a parody of a true championship NFL team, I'm going to assume you meant parity!

One downside to signing with the Vikings to play on that O-Line, if you stink you're going to take 1/5th of the blame for the team's failure given how stacked they are at pretty much every other position!

Oops...but yeah the Vikings are some sort of parody alright. lol

You make a good point about the blame of the oline...I'll counter with Nick Easton just got 4 years 24 million coming off a neck injury and it wasn't a good line when he played. Kalil got a better contract than we gave Reiff. Like I said an opportunity to start matters...ok if this teams was an actual parody then probably not! :)

I think signing with the Vikings to play on O-line is that it is all upside at this point. It is not like we will get worse. I would like to see us go young at the guard spots and build consistency by not having guys turn over year to year.

Let's go with your build with the young guys thought. The Vikings projected oline right now is Reiff draft pick Elf draft pick/FA and O'neill Basically it's very likely 3/5 of the line is gonna be guys with 3 years of experience or less. Adding a solid bridge vet at one guard spot seems reasonable. There is no vet depth at that spot either. Isadora is the only guy currently on the roster that's played a snap in the NFL inside other than Elf right? I'm all for going young generally speaking but...that might be going a bit too far. He Vikings at this point have lost 3 vets off the line in Remmers Compton and unless he resigns Brett Jones. If we sign a guy like Kline we would still have 2 spots open (including a starting spot) for younger players.

Now my guess is your think more along the lines of if Kline is no better than a replacement level guy then yeah may as well go with a young player. I think there is a real chance he is worthwhile step up from that type of player that basically gets the vet min as a depth guy like say Compton or Sirles. Still having a vet guy that's been there done that likely would help a young line to some extent more than another young player trying to do his thing. It would be nice to build a consistent line tho no doubt...seems like a lot to ask Bleed! :)

It is a lot to ask, but we might have some guys in place. I think this is the year Danny Isidora is given his shot to start at RG and Aviante Collins is the guy that might surprise and be our LG. (Collins was ahead of O'Neil on the depth chart before going down.) I expect Elfein to be much better. If we land Jonah Williams, Cody Ford, or Garrett Bradbury that will make a big difference for this team with another sneaky OL pick we could be just fine. It would be great to bring back Brett Jones for depth or maybe someone from the Jets. Rick Dennison has his work cut out for him, but he has a pretty good track record.

Lol who's left to play line for us? We're gonna have to draft 6 linemen just to make sure we have enough bodies to put on the field at this point. Reiff, Elflein, O'Neil and...

We won't draft any and roll with UDFA's.

Yeah and we are gonna also cut Reiff so we can have money to sign depth at corner.

We have not talked backup QB here. I am in the camp of we go with Sloter. I remember Kenuum was pretty good in preseason and largely outplayed Bradford so it was not a total shock when he was solid. I think if Cousins goes down the season is done with these recycled backup QBs. We have 2 years of development in Sloter and he is either the guy or not. So far he has shown when the lights are on he can play.

Well Siemian is gone to the Jets but it sounds like the Vikings are still interested in adding someone that's more of a vet. Can't blame them Sloter has played what like a couple NFL snaps maybe? My guess is they will get someone for a little over 1 million and they will only have a couple hundred grand guaranteed u less it's someone that's kind of a good backup. Rams got Bortles for a bargain at 1 million.

Hey I know let's get Sam Bradford back. :)
