OLine is getting dominated, but Cousins needs to let it fly sooner too. Obviously run blocking has been putrid as well. So weird after they were so good the first few weeks.

I still go back to when Teddy got injured and the idiot Spielman gave up a 1st rounder for Bradford. Who, always was a bottom of the barrel QB. That next draft both Deshaun Watson and Mahomes went, 12th and 10th respectively. That was such a boneheaded trade. We could have had either of those if he wasn't a moron.

Hindsight is tough there. They felt they had a championship-level team. We came out of the gate hot went like 5-0 or 6.0. Then we fell apart. I think some of that reaction was because we had a new stadium. For me, it was because we didn't invest in a backup.

Yeah, well I hated the trade at the time. It wasn't hindsight for me. Bradford had the worst stats of any QB in the league before and since, it's because he sucks. I don't mind trying to find another QB, the problem was giving up a 1st and Bradford himself. The reason he kept getting chances was because he was 1st overall. It was stupid. It was almost as bad as the Herschel trade.

In Sam's time with the Rams, he had the worst head coach in the NFL, no offensive line, and little to no skill position talent around him, and poor health, in large part because his line sucked. Sam had a good year with the Eagles and stayed healthy behind their line the year prior to the Vikings trading for him. He also had a strong and accurate arm, made quick reads, and read defenses well, he was a very good QB who had been submarined by being on bad, poorly run teams.

The Vikings giving up a 1st for him was a no brainer IMO. If he plays only as well as he did with the Eagles you recoup that pick the following year when Teddy was hopefully healthy and ready to play again. If Teddy isn't healthy then you've still got a quality QB as Sam had two years on his contract when they traded for him.

Sam should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Herschel. They gave up the farm for Herschel and sucked for a long time because of it. They gave up one 1st round pick for a talented QB that had he been able to stay healthy would have been a very good QB for another 5-6 years, on a team that cannot find QBs that can give them more than a year it seems.

Sm was not a bad QB, Kirk is, Sam was not. In fact, Sam had everything needed to be a great QB with the exception of health.

The funny thing about that trade was Bradford was VERY good that year for them. They didn't lose that season because of QB play. I liked Bradford but I wouldn't have given up what they did but it did make sense. They also didn't know what the situation was going to be with Teddy. Bradford's contract was fairly reasonable as well if he was actually healthy and played well...he did play well that season.

Drafting a QB is tricky. There certainly could have been some guys over the past couple years that would look good now especially since they would still be cheap.

The problem with Cousins right now is his fumbling. His passing isn't good enough either but the guy has fumbled 6 times in 4 games. That's been a problem his whole career (for context he has played with bad oline pretty much his whole career but..) that's killing this team as much as anything else he has done...besides that bad throw against the Packers. Ultimately IF...at the end of this season we learn Cousins isn't the answer (I don't think that's certain quite yet) that could end up being a positive if we move on especially if we actually add the right QB. The season isn't over yet. Stay tuned if you can stomach it.

Well not even the Eagles agreed with your opinion because they drafted Wentz that year! They wanted to dump Bradford!!! He was essentially worth not more than a late round pick, Spielman was an idiot. And yes, Bradford wasn't good, despite his injury issues. Look at his stats. They were terrible. Blame everything on anybody but him, sure. Nope. He was a bottom of the league starter, which is why the Eagles dumped him and drafted a new QB!!!
