I think Jerry Rice was the best WR of all time.
I think Randy Moss was the most talented.
I think Barry Sanders was the best RB of all time.
I think Bo Jackson was the most talented.
I guess there is just no cut and dry reasoning for judging these. I can't really defend my rankings.
Does Randy Moss have a point when he declares himself the best wide receiver ever?

I think it diminishes Rice to a degree that he felt he had to respond to Moss's claim (just like it diminishes Moss to make the claim). Why bother? There are tons and tons of other former team mates, fans, rivals, and coaches that will do your bidding. Just take the high road and stay silent or if asked directly, say "I think we both had great careers. I'll let others judge whose was the best.".
You mention Barry Sanders above....I wonder if he's ever been reeled into one of these debates on RBs? I kind of doubt it knowing his personality. And that's a good thing.

Great point about Barry.
Re: Does Randy Moss have a point when he declares himself the best wide receiver ever?
Reading what Rice said it seemed like he was making a strong case but also being a little funny.
Rice is probably the greatest of all time but for a few years Moss might have been the best of anyone ever to play. It's not like he is some just pretty good WR making some claim as the GOAT. Moss was an amazing player I gave no problem with his claim and I don't really have much of a problem with Rice coming at him a bit. If Moss is gonna make that claim he likely knows people are gonna come at him.
Idk if Barry Sanders is the GOAT but he was the most fun RB to watch that I've ever seen so that's my claim and nobody can dispute that! :)

I think Moss' peak is higher than any WR ever, but he's down 4 total thousand yard seasons to Rice with the same double digit TD years. He's down about 8,000 yards total as well just due to Rice's longevity. Rice dropped thousand yard seasons at 39 and 40 years old. It's kind of the MJ versus Lebron debate. Do you want peak where MJ was 6/6 in the finals in 7 years or do you want longevity where Lebron is gonna be a 20 year player with almost a decade straight of making the finals in his prime?
