2021 Vikings Draft Thread

Post by bleedspeed »

Every year, the NFL Draft offers teams an opportunity to bolster their roster with young and exciting talent. But in most years, that talent isn't evenly distributed amongst all positions. There are strengths and weaknesses in every draft class, and the 2021 NFL Draft is no different.

ESPN senior NFL Draft analyst, Mel Kiper Jr., answered fan questions this week and offered his opinion on which positions are the strongest in this year's class.

"The position groups of strength are at wide receiver, offensive line and cornerback," Kiper wrote. "There could be three receivers in the top 10 picks, and it's deep throughout. There will be Day 2 picks who make an impact as rookies. As far as offensive line, this is one of the best classes for tackles in the last decade. There could be four or five picked in Round 1. It's a talented and loaded crop of corners, too -- I expect a bunch of starters to go in the second round."

I saw this trade. I liked Isiah Wilson for a power team but thought 1st round was way too early. I wonder if he would have gone later if he would have taken his career more seriously. Miami is a good place for him as he gets a chance to lineup next to his college teammate Solomon Kindley.

Titans cutting ties with a 1st round pick after just one year that's not good. I hope Wilson can get his life together.

Yep - I respect that they weren't afraid to cut ties and move forward quickly.

The draft is just a few weeks away. Is there anyone that would reasonably be available at #14 that you would keep you from trading down to later in the first and getting another valuable pick? I haven't spent enough time on reading about these guys to feel strongly about anyone.

I'm worried either the Saints, Patriots or Steelers will take Trask and he will be a HOF QB.

Just please not the first two because I hate cheaters who also "win" AND fuck over the Vikings too. (Bounty gate, everything the Pats did)

Saints and Steelers would be great landing spots for Trask. I wouldn't be as excited about going to Pats though as I think Bill is about 2 years from retirement.

Alijah Vera-Tucker is the guy I want at #14 and would be hard to give up. Other then that I would be open to it, but don't know this draft that well.

Possibly Bill might retire, IDK, he could go another 5 years too.

I heard the Saints were high on Trask and that scares me. I need them to lose.

As much as I like the Vikes winning I need the teams I hate to lose. GB, Pats and Saints. :D

I'm terrible at evaluating OLine so I just go by what I read and I would be happy if we picked him. Looked at Walters recent mock and he goes right before us, then has us taking the VT OT.
