I do like the idea Kahn's has put forth of brining in a guy like Sam Darnold a young guy (turns 24 next year) to be behind Cousins and MAYBE be the next guy. Darnold has all the physical tools based on what I have seen. Is he a possible reclamation project or is he the next Blaine Gabbert backup QB type? The QB position in the NFL is a bit saturated When it comes to the lower end of starter level guys. Some guys have had to settle for backup roles that I think in the past would have gotten other chances. I do also think some guys are picking a better spot where they play in a system that might make them look more valuable like Winston signing with the Saints last offseason. I'd be interested in hearing some other guys people would consider if they were available. It will be interesting to see if the Jets find a taker for Darnold or they just have to cut him. I have no idea if someone would be willing to trade anything for him and still have to pay around 5 million for next season.

I was wrong about Keenum, I thought he was a career backup. But maybe he is? lol

However he played much better then I thought he would. So I was wrong on that for sure.

I liked the Keenum signing. It was the last time we had a good plan B. He was a journeyman for sure, but not a fossil or never going to be like Manion.

Saw a depressing article on Tommy Kramer.

I am still completely shocked nobody has mentioned going after Dwayne Haskins.

I mean his own coach didn't want anything to do with him because he was mentally that far behind at the position. At least with a guy like Darnold you can see that Gase is an idiot who doesn't know what he's doing and a new coach with any weapons around him could probably do wonders for him. I don't think he's a slam dunk because he has issues protecting the ball that may never go away, but I think he has a chance with a better coach and better weapons. He's also just been absolutely under siege behind that O-line which may still be a problem here in 2 years but we'll see. Haskins had Smith mentoring him and he just couldn't get it to work to the point where he got benched for Kyle Allen and now Smith has instantly made that team the best in the NFC east since he took over so that team actually has talent on it to be good and they just weren't with Haskins at QB.

My brother said when Haskins was drafted he thought he was 2 years away from being ready To play. I wasn't so sure About that but I did think he probably needed to wait a year. Yes they let other guys play instead of him but they are also saying positive things about him now. Rivera also had a chance to win that crappy division so why not play someone else that's better now? Haskins probably wasn't doing well learning on the job Although his stats look better this year which isn't saying a lot. I'm not in on Haskins but I could see him maybe start to figure it out in year 3. Like I said before Mclaurin having the season he has with those guys as QBs is pretty impressive. Alex Smith coming back and looking like even a top backup is a nice story pretty much everyone in sports seems happy for the guy. I'm more intrigued with Darnold but I'd be interested in someone making a case for Haskins.

No to Haskins. Theres just too much smoke around him not to have fire behind it. I wouldn't even take him over Mannion. lol

That's a no from me too on Haskins. My friends in D.C. say he's a mess.

Interesting would you be willing to say more of what you have heard?

I was kidding about Haskins. He is on that short list of players that I wouldn't move on from Manion for.

He just got benched for Taylor Heinicke who might match Haskins output in the game in his first 2 drives. My chances of winning my fantasy matchup went way up once he entered the game. Coincidence? Lol
