Problem Solved.
Whew...that's a relief. I was worried I was going to have to get rid of my Super Bowl tickets.
I don't know if you guys followed the OL drama yesterday afternoon. Somebody came across a Pete Carroll interview where he said "well, it looks like the Vikings have solved their O-line problem". That was enough to get the internet rumor mill churning...everyone was convinced that we had just obtained Joe Thomas for Jarius Wright and a 3rd rounder! Barreiro spent a half hour on the topic on his show.
Well, it turned out that Carroll was a little behind the times, and he was referring to Jake Long...what a letdown!

That was a good joke by Carroll he had no idea how good it was gonna be when he said it. :) People keep forgetting the Vikings are against the Cap. I'm sure there is some room they can make but acquiring Joe Thomas probably isn't going to happen.
Back to Austin Shepard. It's not SIGNIFICANT but the guy was on the roster last year and they used him in goal line packages etc so you would think he doesn't suck at least as a run blocker. Below is his draft profile.
I saw the Carroll post. I honestly thought Shepard would get picked up and be on someones practice squad. I wonder if he will see action before Willie "Believe" Beavers.

He was on 2 team's practice squads after the Vikings cut him loose.

Man, it's ridiculous. The pass protection is a little better than last week, but Sam is still going to be awfully sore tomorrow. But the run blocking continues to be absurdly bad.

Yeah, Sam is getting occasional time to throw and using it to overthrow his receivers. His accuracy even with time has been terrible!
Not worried. I think the OL and offense is just holding back until the NFC Championship game. The OL is not blocking and giving teams false hope. We didn't want to repeat what the Pats did in getting to the Superbowl without losing a game.
