I ma guessing the only way he signs with the Pats is a prove it deal that they can cut him in pre-season and not owe him a dime. That is the Patriot way. AP just never seemed like a team guy.
I agree Hill seems like a good backup for us at LT. Sirles seemed like a good backup also and should be better this year. I am guessing Kalil gets 8M. If he is healthy and you think his injury issues are behind him I would pay it on a short term deal, but have a better idea than Clemmings at LT as plan B. I would say Hill and then Boone as option B and C.
I haven't seen what Rieff got paid but I like him. He gives them flexibility going forward being able to play him at either tackle position. From what I have read heard about him he is solid. That's good enough. It's kinda cool he is sprta of a local kid since he is from a South Dakota.

The flip side of Rieff is the player the Vikings wanted first was signed by Detroit in order take Rieff's position.
Remmers is coming into town. I like him. If the Vikings came away with Rieff and Remmers it wouldn't be spectacular but it was be a pretty massive improvement still. They could find an in house option at RG or maybe sign a value/cheap guy there later.

The problem is Rieff was available because the guy they wanted signed with Detroit to replace him. Remers is available because Carolina signed Khalil. In both cases the option the Vikings wanted, or already had were viewed by other teams as superior.
I'm sure these two will likely be an improvement, but almost any fat guy with a pulse would have been.
I think we still should sign an interior linemen so that we don't go into the draft needing another linemen to fill out the starting 5. Then just go BPA and maybe a tackle or interior guy are BPA when we pick and we actually go into next year with depth on the front 5 that isn't Clemmings.
I would sign another vet. Like you said just for depth and still draft some young guys. I like our signings at Tackle though. Solid players with a history staying history. We have those guys and Boone. Then Berger, Clemmings, Hill, Worked, and Eaton. Then we whoever we draft. It looks like a good draft for guards.

*Whatever you do don't say Beatlejuice three times in a row, I hear it'll bring Duke out of the woodwork.
Im trying to figure out who is "Worked". I wanna saw its Beavers but that's Bleed's guy. Also this team has Sirles and Kerin too and the magical Austin Shepard.
Damn. Lang went to the Lions. I was hoping we could have landed him and been set on the interior this year with Lang, Berger and Boone. Would have been nice to have considering the sort of hand-me-down status of the two tackles we got being immediately replaced with perceived upgrades by their former teams.
