It's definitely not a good thing to have guys moving around this much. I don't know how you improve at one spot if you keep swapping inside/out or even from side to side.

Agreed, I would have thought Collins at LG, Isidora at RG and O'Neill at RT. Moving O'Neill around worries me more than anything at this point, but that could be a good sign too that he gets it at RT.

It SEEMS like guys have moved around less this year than in other years. All of us here have criticized the Vikings for moving guys around too much. The thing is some guys need to take reps at some point at different spots. O'Neil c an't be just taking reps at RT. Moving inside to RG to get some reps seems reasonable to me. If any of these guys are gonna be active on game day they need to have some reps at other spots in case they have to fill in there.

Monster - I get what you are saying. I just think guard play is so much different than Tackle. In that scenario, I would just keep O'Neill at RT. Collins has played LG so why not give him more looks there. Some of this might be just to help them understand what the other teammates are reasonable.

Sure Guard is different than Tackle but it's on that side and again he is gonna have to take some reps at guard that's the way it is anywhere. I'm guessing part of why they did this was to get Collins a look and some reps at RT. At this point he seems to be a pretty versatile guy. Where should they put him? Idk it probably depends as much what they think about Compton as their LG as well as what they think they could get out of Edison (or Elf shifting over) if they had to play guard on game day. Again if this is a day or 2 of flipping guys around fine that's reasonable. What has been maddening is having guys all over the place or starting the offseason at one spot and moving them multiple times before the season starts. That's why we are having this conversation about this moves is I think it's been very fair to question them. Sometimes circumstances merits that but sometimes it definitely seems problematic which we have all pointed out. This instance seems more in the realm of reasonable deviation.

More injuries. Hopefully, we get some guys back this week.

Collins started at RT for Hill who was out. It makes me feel like O'Neill is behind schedule when a 2nd round pick gets beat out by a second-year UDFA, but Collins is 25 years old and O'Neill is 22.

Another OL article.

http://www.1500espn.com/vikings-2/2018/08/offensive-line-combination-will-vikings-land/

This is the combos they felt we could have

- Reiff -- Compton -- Elflein -- Remmers -- Hill
- Reiff -- Remmers -- Elflein -- Isidora -- Hill
- Reiff -- Compton -- Elflein -- Isidora -- Remmers
- Reiff -- Isidora -- Elflein -- Remmers -- O'Neill
- Reiff -- Collins -- Elflein -- Remmers -- Hill

Unless Collins is the second coming of Berger I would love to see Collins start at LG and Isidora at RG. If Elfein comes back healthy I wonder if Josh Andrews makes the team.

We got him!!!!!! Jacob Judd

I love this scouting report where they clearly accidentally put in the wrong one from another player. lol

Anywho the Vikings are his favorite team and based on the pictures I've seen he looks like a Viking. He is probably just a body to help out but its kinda fun looking up some of these guys.

In Judd we trust.

It certainly is not good that Elfein is not here and that signing doesn't help Here is an article that we should be concerned.

Vikings make a move to help solidify the line in trading a 7th rounder for Brett Jones. It seems like this is a pretty solid move to get a guy that was paid to be a starter a few months ago. If PFF grades from last year are anywhere near correct he might actually be an upgrade over Easton. Giants had 1 million in cap space before this move so getting out of Jones almost 3 million in salary is no small thing. The question now is how quick can he get up to speed. This makes me feel a lot better about the Oline especially since we don't really know when Elf will be cleared much less be able to contribute.
