Good point about Easton and Sirles. I think I was hoping one of these guys would develop into solid NFL starters. After striking out on Clemmings and Beavers as upside project OL with physical traits I hope they changed what they are looking for. I feel like Brian O'Neill is a boom or bust pick along the same lines as though two.

I think O'Neil is both more athletic and more polished (FWIW PFF has good things to say about his pass protecting and I think they pretty much trashed those other guys) than either of those guys. For one thing I haven't heard any talk from the Vikings about him being a guard and that was basically immediately said about the other 2...but they said that about every offensive lineman. Lol

Easton might be a solid NFL starter. It seemed was playing well early on in the season (it seemed like everyone except Elf was too) so we will see. He is not a proven commodity though obviously so we will see. I have some hope for Isidora as a legit talent at guard.

Monster - Again great points. I found it hard projecting OL in the draft for this team. I am old school want a guy that will knock you off the line and push you back. So feel the rule changes are pushing teams away from this and it will be more blocking on move vs. lining up and pushing teams off the ball and a RB ramming it up the middle like Barry Word and Christian Okoye did for the Chiefs back in the day.

From everything I have understood this team is looking for the athletic guys across the line so yeah they probably weren't going to take a mailer type. That's an interesting point about the league changing as a whole.

I'll say this about the Vikings that they are 1 for 3 in letting interior vet guys go. Sullivan was pretty good for the Rams last year. Fusco had a nice year for the miners and got a nice contract. Boone was bad for the Cardinals. I'm not going to rip them too bad for letting either of those other guys go too bad because for various reasons it made sense but it's still pretty disappointing to see worthwhile lineman you had on your roster be somewhere else especially with the shape this online has been the last couple years. Those guys were part of the problem though at times either being injured or being underwhelming (Fusco switching sides).

Well Beavers and Clemmings didn't do much.

O'Neill is an interesting prospect. I think he will catch a touchdown next year as a TE. It is just a guess of mine.

I remember Sirles said he was supposed to catch one last year joking about how upset he was about it. So yeah it's a possibility

Monster - I think O'Neill might actually be talented enough to play TE for some teams. He certainly has the size and speed to pull it off. It is strange to think a kid that was best basketball player in his state in high school is playing LT in college.

FWIW PFF has him rated as the 12th best guard in the NFL. Having said that this guy sounds like he is as nuts as ever.

He is certainly a different type of guy for sure. I would have to get some former teammates input on him.
