I'd like him back if it was cheap. Maybe throw in some performance incentives so if he does well he gets a decent chunk of money. Even if he was a part time player he would likely be an upgrade over what we had this year. I'd guess he would help some against the run over what we put out there this year which was a problem also.

If they brought Griffen back that certainly doesn't mean they shouldn't be looking at another pass rusher in the draft but it might help bridge the gap for the young guys they tend to be good at developing.

Agreed, didn't he have a subpar season as well? Maybe as a part timer he could help if we don't add any draft picks at DE.

I was doing a little search of OLine guys and the guy from USC (forgot his name now) at 6-4 and 315 looks like he could be a great fit. He played LG then moved to LT last year and played really well. The scouting report listed him as a best fit for a zone blocking scheme. He is mocked as a round 1-2 guy now. Seen some mocks of him going ahead of us and some not even in the 1st. Still early though of course.

It will be interesting to watch how this draft plays out. No combine, No East/West Shrine game, etc.

It sounds like the Senior Bowl might still happen.

I see Walters has us taking Dt-Barmore. I would be happy with that pick as long as we get another OL in before day 3.

Yeah I saw that. I was watching Barmore pretty closely during that game and he looked good, not like how I loved Aaron Donald but he looks pretty quick and powerful still. I also watched every Alabama game this season and he didn't show up much in the first half, He came on during the back half of the season.

I think he goes before we pick. I would like to see us invest in the trenches or QB with the first-round pick. I actually could see some teams that QB is retiring but rosters is in the window wanting to trade for Cousins if we just admit we need a rebuild. Saints, Steelers, Colts, all could need QB's in 2021. I also, I wonder if the Patriots go another year without a QB.

Out of those I think the Saints would be the most beneficial spot for Cousins. Brees was injured, old and his arm was gone. He had no velocity left. Do they trust either Winston or that running dude? Probably not.

Heck I'd take a 3rd rounder for Cousins and we look for a new QB. Win - win.

I wouldn't count on anyone trading for Cousins even though the salary they would be taking on for the next 2 years now seems fairly reasonable after the season he just had. The problem is there are going to be a lot of options for teams to pursue. If one team decides to move on from a guy (Let's say Jimmy G) that may mean another team could fill their spot with that guy.

As for drafting a QB...look at the 2016 draft. The only QB I would trade Cousins for in that draft is Dak Prescott. Goff and Wentz went 1 and 2 they aren't better than Cousins. What about Winston and Mariota in 2015? In 2014 who is better than Cousins? Derrick Carr? Thats 3 straight drafts of 1st and 2nd round QBs that aren't going to be the guy.

Of course if you can even get a Teddy type impact QB late in the first round early 2nd then that would be great as it would be a relatively cheap solid QB but that's not exactly guaranteed either. Depending on what you do at the QB position you may only save money for 2-3 seasons while also passing on a chance to improve another position with a relatively inexpensive player.

Sticking with Cousins especially if he is at all willing to restructure his salary so it's not ridiculous starts to look a little more appealing at times when you look at what the other options might end up being. One thing about Cousins is that he stays healthy and that's not a small thing.

I'm certainly not again drafting a young QB but I'm not all in on it either. It would be nice to get one of those retread youngish guys a shot as a backup. You also never know maybe we find something in one of later pick undrafted guys. The bottom line is that it depends on whether the QB that's available when you pick is a guy you really believe can be worth it. This draft I honestly have no idea. I'll probably do a little more research before the draft rolls around.

I think it is all about if we want to try and sneak into the playoffs in the next years with Cousins or rebuild. I would be interested in a Cousins for Sam Arnold trade.

Rivers had a nice career. It's kinda something that he and Brees retired the same season.

Yeah - They were talking about it on KFAN with Dan Barreiro and talked about his hall of fame odds. Dan said he felt he was better stats than Eli Manning, but the Super Bowls will likely help him. It will be interesting to see if he move the broadcast booth next year. Someone on PA talked about they could see him becoming a Tony Romo type in the booth.

Rivers seemed to go from a guy people didn't really like much to one that kinda hand sort of an amusing side to him. I could see him going into broadcasting also. I don't think he is a HOFer but yeah if he had won a Super Bowl it would be a better case for him no doubt. There are a lot of good players that don't make it. If he is good at broadcasting he might end up there anyway. Romo is heading to the HOF based on his broadcasting abilities. I'm not sure any broadcast analyst has taken the NFL by storm like him since Madden who had a pretty good resume before going to the booth. Over 100 wins in 10 years (14 game seasons except 16 his last year) is pretty good.
