Re: OT thread America
Heard Biden fell not once, not twice, but three times climbing the stairs to get on Air Force One.
Thank you media for not pushing the issue of the physical and mental health of our Presidents. We have an age minimum we can and should have an age cap.

Liberals won't be swayed and neither will conservatives. Everyone's so bunkered down in their ideals becuz we all have information at our disposal telling us we are right. The majority of people don't go online to search out a differing idea. They go in search of an idea they already agree with. Further empowering their already stubborn beliefs. There was a time when politicians could sit at a table and discuss differencing of opinions. But it's bad business now. You're looked at as a traitor if you even have a notion of considering what the other side has to say. Awful times we live in as far as I'm concerned.

Totally agree, but it's actually much, much worse than that. The opinion you agree with actually seeks YOU out. This is the power of algorithms that analyze your search history and then feeds you more information to further confirm the beliefs you already have. People have to proactively break out of their viewing/reading habits to avoid descending into rank tribalism.

I don't watch or read corporate media anymore. There are plenty of writers and Podcaster out there on both sides willing to call balls and strikes on both parties. If a person/site only calls out the other side they're dishonest and not worth our time.

Or be confident in their own principles.
I've mentioned this before... but I posted on three different sites periodically from the old ESPN forum. Here, but almost entirely about basketball.
On another site, I'm ripped for being a racist, pro-cop, Trump apologist bigot.
And on the third forum, I'm ripped for being a liberal Trump-hating, white-man-loathing SJW.
Sometimes, I've posted the exact same post on both sites... And sure enough, I'd get those very different types of responses. It was amusing for a spell in a "how is this happening" sort of way. But the constant caustic nature toward anybody who refuses to "take a side and stick to it always" actually started to become unsettling. People see what they WANT to see.
We're in strange times. Personally, I like to believe sanity will return to the forefront... eventually.
"To be fair"... I'm probably wrong.

It is sad to me Curt Boganey seems to be a fall guy for the city of Brooklyn Center. He seemed to be a voice of reason wanting to seek "due process". Why do we want to compound our mistakes?

Divide and conquer. Pick a side!
Just maybe the third option is correct. Neither.

Arizona votes to ban the teaching of critical race theory. Thank God and this certainly isn't surprising. You know what is surprising? It passed by the narrowest of margins. 16-14 in the state senate, and 31-29 in the house. What the hell is the matter with these people? The mental disorder that is liberalism is apparently more contagious than the Delta variant. I'm simply amazed that the vote would be that close.

Have you studied Critical Race Theory?

I know enough about it to know further study would be a waste of time. I suppose you advocate it?
