It's not all American liberals. In fact, it seems to be a small sect of American liberals... and they seem to be pushing the message largely for attention. It's a paint-by-numbers approach at this point... because we know what the retorts will usually be. And because it works.
Other mostly liberal entities, such as the NCAAP, have denounced the Utah's BLM chapter's claim. But beyond that... it's a shame that something such as the American flag has become a partisan symbol for hacks. Our nation deserves better.
I know the legal standard in the country is "innocent until proven guilty", but I guess I tend to be more kneejerk like you, bleed, and form my own conclusions outside the law. Although he has never been convicted of anything, this guy is clearly a problem and needs to resign...kudos to Walz and his party for not coming to his defense. I'm a "believe the woman" kind of guy, and even though he was cleared of the alleged charges, where there's smoke there's fire...this guy is a bad dude and needs to go.
As to your question about background checks, I don't know that an alleged crime without a conviction is grounds for not electing someone. Heck, we had a presidential candidate recently with 24 credible cases of sexual misconduct against women, and he got elected! There's no room for double standards in my value system...Trump is dirty, and Thompson is dirty. Trump got elected and survived one full term. I hope Minnesota's Dems don't allow the same travesty to happen with Thompson...get him out of here.
I wouldn't call it kneejerk reaction. It is just based on everything that has come out about him in the last week since he got pulled over. Not paying childsupport, not having a MN license, possibly not ever living in his district, and then the whole terroristic threats on the city of Hugo last summer. It is just crazy that no one bothered looking into his past at all.
Domestic Violence is on a different level than sexual misconduct. Society has basically said one is illegal and the other is bad taste. Political life seems to be a dumpster fire for this. Clinton, JFK, Franken, and even MLK have a checkered past in this regard. I agree I applaud the Dems for voicing for him to resign. I think Al Franken might have just resigned due to the timing of current events, but maybe he had some baggage he didn't want to get out because it didn't seem nearly as creepy as what we have seen from Biden. I actually thought Franken was a solid senator for us.
Hopefully, in 2022 and 2024 we have better candidates.

Agreed...there's no question we deserve better than this in our elected leaders.
I'm disturbed by the Biden administration not supporting the people of Cuba in their quest for freedom. They won't even acknowledge the true reason for the protests. What does this tell us? The radical left's collusion with the media companies should scare you whether you're republican, democrat, libertarian, or moderate. This marxist agenda is being implemented and it's happening fast. If you care about this country you need to understand what is happening. Your government is not who you think it is.

It looks to me like most media is reporting a lot of negatives takes about what Biden is or isn't doing with the situation. What is your take on the embargo on Cuba?
This administration is a fucking disaster. The stock market, the border, gas prices, general inflation - all things the previous administration had in total control. This has all happened in 6 months. Lord help us.

You realize that a significant portion of the country was saying the same thing about the previous administration right?
