Favorite Baseball Movie

Post by bleedspeed »

I like Clint Eastwood so I will go with "Trouble with the Curve" though I really liked "Moneyball".

Summer Catch had some very striking visuals but was not a good movie baseball or not.

Baseball was my first love and it's the sport I probably played more than any other as a kid all the way through high school. With that said, there's no way I could narrow it down to one singular favorite. Here are my top-ten baseball movies in no particular order.

1. Moneyball
2. Major League
3. Bull Durham
4. The Sandlot
5. Field of Dreams
6. The Rookie
7. For Love of the Game
8. Little Big League
9. Trouble With the Curve
10. Mr. 3000

Side Note: Put Kevin Costner in just about anything and I'll probably enjoy it. Not to go too far off topic, but I highly recommend his new TV series Yellowstone if you find yourself looking for something good to watch.

AGREED That is a great show that my wife and I both like. She doesn't even like Kevin Costner.

Completely agree with you there. It's a very solid and enjoyable baseball movie, but it's place in baseball and movie lore is very overrated. It still finds a way to my top-ten list, though. :)

I'm terrible at "favorite" anything. I just like a lot of stuff. I think I've finally decided my favorite music artist is Tom Petty though.

There are a couple of these movies I haven't seen. I'll put them on my list of stuff to watch. I've been watching more movies lately.

Yeah, I got on the Yellowstone bandwagon late in all honesty. Watched the two available seasons in a span of a couple days or so. Can't wait for the next one. Out of curiosity, who are your -- you and your wife's -- favorite characters?

Casey and Monica.

My wife's is Monica because she just wants what is best for Casey and Tate. She can't be bought.

Mine is Casey more or less the same but he is stuck between his family legacy and his what is best for his family.

Second level are:

Rip for his loyalty to John and love of Beth.
Beth for just being strong and a wrecking ball.

If you like raunchy humor. I recommend Brockmire. The guy who does Homer Simpson's voice is a play by play tv/radio broadcaster that goes nuts after finding out his wife cheated on him. I really can't recommend it enough to it's extremely funny.

Also there's a fantastic Joe Buck episode about Jim giving Joe buck Pink eye lol
