Well it was fun while it lasted. This is surprising...but it kinda isn't. He didn't seem to be as good of an all around player as he was a few years ago and his bat is good but not that special. The Twins also have plenty of OF prospects. I suppose it's possible they bring him back on a cheaper deal but even though Rosario was maddening at times he was a pretty good and fun player for a number of years.

They have been talking about this for weeks, and the first instinct is to get upset. But then you pull up Spotrac and realize that nearly every team (and almost all of Milwaukee) is going through the same thing. Kyle Schwarber hit .400 in the World Series and 38 HR's in '19.

The good news for the teams is they don't have to pay them. The bad news is they don't get a compensatory pick. The bad news for the players is they will probably make less in '21. The good news is that (I believe) they are now out of the "arbitration" portion of their career and onto the free agent portion.

And ALWAYS remember: There were actions that weren't taken and/or DELIBERATELY AVOIDED from 11/19 to 2/20 that caused all of this. And don't forget who was involved.

Eddie Rosario wasn't a $10-million player, and so he was non-tendered. Add on to that fact that the team's best and most MLB-ready prospects are corner outfielders and it makes even more sense. I fully expect that money to be allocated to the bullpen or a mid-rotation starting pitcher.

There were people in recent years that advocated for trading Rosario and I was one that pushed back on that to some extent. Of course the reporting might not be correct or it's too convenient now that they released him but apparently they had him available in trades for a couple years. Part of why I didn't think they should or would trade him was that I thought he didn't actually have a ton of trade value so they may as well keep him. Every team turned down the chance to pay him 10 million. As it's been stated already thats not surprising.

I never said anything against the Twins. Did you even read my post?

I will be curious to see where he lands. I think pro sports will have huge revenue issues moving forward outside the NFL and gambling. People have found other ways to spend disposable income and those habits might not change when COVID is over.

If he passes his physical Eddie Rosario will sign 1 year 8 million with Cleveland. Honestly I'm a little surprised he got that much although it's far from an outlandish number especially for just a 1 year deal.
