Player A is Kyle Gibson and Player B is Odo

I think we tend to think Odo as a stable guy because the half year in 2019 when he was unbelievable and a allstar. I picked these stats because it shows a 3 year period that Odo is about as the same or a little bit of a notch better than Kyle Gibson. I think 13 mill a year can be used on something better than our 5th starting pitcher if they were to sign Paxton or Kluber.

That makes sense. The question I have is if Odo who was trending up a bit before an injury marred season can he get back (Including staying healthy) to that or is he Kyle Gibson who was trending down and then had a poor season last year for Texas. Also Odo has now had one season where he had an ERA over 5. Gibson had a couple of those. Supposedly the market is heat up for him. It will be interesting to see what he gets.

Edit: Jester you may have outlined why the Twins supposedly weren't very aggressive in offering him a deal.

I'm surprised jester hasn't posted about it, but how about the Padres trading for Blake Snell? Wow, right? I love the aggressiveness. I think the Twins could have and maybe should have made a comparable offer.

The fact didn't give up Gore for Snell should be a crime. I would've given up Duran or Jordy Blaze and Jeffers for Snell that is the equivalent on what they gave up.

I had drinks with colleague of mine last Saturday that's still in player development with the twins. He told me the twins are not out on Bauer. That there's a real chance Bauer signs a 1 year 30-40 million dollar deal and bets on himself again. Same person who told me weeks before that the twins were taking Royce Lewis #1.

Btw DLO sucks and is not max player :) did I do that right? That's what your supposed to put when responding to you.

I would have approved of that trade package or similar too. Snell would have been a huge get for our Twins.

Also, that's great insider info, jester. I'm glad to hear that they're still pursuing the top arm available and it shouldn't surprise us considering the ties this front office has to him. And it sounds like your source might be on to something. We'll definitely have to monitor that over the next couple of weeks. I would assume Minnesota would be out on him if he decides he wants a long-term deal, but I could be wrong. He's a great talent and very fun personality to follow, though.

And yes, you nailed it! I'm where all D-Lo criticism is routed through! How about that! Haha.

Boy the rich keep richer sounds like Padres are getting Darvish and there still not giving up Gore. This move I believe is Covid based and the Cubs are trying to save the 20+ mil there paying Darvish. Looks like the package is for the Padres #11 #13 #15 and #16 and vet Zach Davies.

Also listening to Gleeman the other night sounds like the twins as in on Semien and are looking at entertaning trades for Arraez and moving Polanco to 2nd.

I've never considered the Padres as one of the rich get richer teams? They just see themselves as contenders and are going all in. The Twins have been an arm or two away and maybe a bat and choose not to go all in not becuz they are small market but becuz they have a business model that puts profit margins over success. This team is built to win now much like the Padres but only one team is making moves.

We should have done a deal for Lindor. Mets gave up next to nothing for him. Two 2 round picks from 2020 and amed rosario and the Jimenez kid. Essentially gave up next to nothing for him.

I feel bad for Cleveland fans giving up Lindor at almost really any price.

Listening to Gleeman and Geek last night sounds like Twins did call on Lindor and the price was much higher to trade him in house.

Honestly this is great for Twins. This knocks out Cleveland and the Mets of the Short stop market.

Also if the twins really think it's there window there's a Trevor Story deal sitting on the table. Now that we know how much a one year rental all star short stop is worth.

Celesteno and Enlow and two low A guys should enough to get it done.

Also best part is the the Twins could QO story and get first round pick or if he chooses to take great one more year of Story.

Per the Athletic Twins to attend Kluber workouts. I will be stunned if he doesnt sign with us. Unless he truly has nothing left in the tank.
